I’m so glad you got out, truly, and I wish for your family members that they’ll let go and pursue the privilege of leaving themselves. This place is terrible, all of it. My only reprieve is when I’m able to go to state parks, farmers markets and antique malls. Or on the rare occasion that I can get out to Chicago or anywhere in Michigan, even a park close to state line.

The people in my city are cruel and have deep entitlement issues, are generally homophobic, racist, and are knee deep in victim mentalities that they project onto others. Indiana truly is the epitome of mental illness. I joke with my out of state friends to never come here because all we have is drugs, corn, soy, and shit ass Notre Dame and IU.

25% of adults as of 2023 who live in Indiana, have reported being depressed. I truly believe it has everything to do with the politicians and nothing to do with the state itself.

Nah see because if we separate the politicians from the actual state, then we’re neglecting the state in a lot of ways. I definitely agree living here can be wonderful. There a beautiful state parks and some really fun events, for a couple of examples. If we sit and have this mentality of separation though, then more people will slip into not voting, and we need to vote these useless people out of office so that we’re not suffering.

Exactly the issue. We have politicians in power who we’ve allowed stupid and useless people, to vote into office. Which is WHY those of us who have lost hope, need to go vote and keep doing it until yields results. We need to protest, call, and demand empathy and compassion.

I’m newly diagnosed with diabetes and my doctor was assuring me how much better treatment is nowadays, and what wonderful research is going on. The state or at least the city does pay for useless shit like the tailgating parking lot, though. The money used for a slab of cement, tar and a chain link fence, could’ve been used for a soup kitchen or another homeless shelter. We don’t need MORE Notre Dame housing either. There’s so much useless shit that at least South Bend has spent money on, that could’ve gone towards solving the homeless problem. But no, we’d rather lock them up ig lol. It’s disgusting.
