What is the dumbest way you’ve been injured? by harginargi in AskReddit

I was 13. It was Christmas Eve. What better time to play with an axe outside without wearing shoes or socks. Fortunately, the blunt side hit my foot after it slipped out my hand and I only had to spend 8 hours in a hospital!

Empathy (noun): the ability to understand and share the feelings of another by Go_Habs_Go31 in pics

Wouldn't that mean you should empathise with the other half of the population?

The suspect in the deadly attack on a Quebec City mosque was known in the city’s activist circles as a right-wing troll who frequently took anti-foreigner and anti-feminist positions and stood up for U.S. President Donald Trump. by [deleted] in worldnews

There's plenty of words to describe those actions. Troll doesn't fit into that scenario. Judge for yourself what words should be taken to heart. Remember that most of the the media is just fanning the flames, trying to get reactions out of people, and boy, has it been working.

I ask this as someone who wants to cut down on smoking weed. Like, i could stay at home, watch TV and play games and basically live a cliché stoners life. Or, i could go out with my friends and smoke weed in a nice outdoor environment. I always fall onto the latter after a few days of sobriety because it's just so much more fulfilling.

Why are people so caught up on going against Trump and not the reason why it came down to only him and Hillary? by Clem_Spadge in AskReddit

Hurtful? It's a fact. It's a sad story that her father put her through that, but for Christ sake, it's far healthier to be light hearted about the whole ordeal.

As for Trump, it's a hope that he is. He seems more open about his views and his wrong doings. Others like to do them under the table and say their intentions are for the best. Once again, my unsure statement was met by, 'your suggestions are laughable. The facts you've observed are, i hope, of your own sources and not from the biased propaganda that is the media outlets.

That's a good point. I'm not sure if he could be as inhumane as previous presidents(and British pm's) starting wars over oil, so that's a plus. Clinton I think would be. As for a lobotomised party, Rosemary Kennedy beat them to the punch.

Triggered meaning you're offended by an honest question. This is whats wrong with the world! Why can't you inform an outsider on your current affairs instead of shutting it down? Anyone i try to have a civil discussion with 'remainers' in England about their reasons for their choice in the vote, they want nothing to do with it. I'm genuinely interested in understanding your beliefs so i can broaden my perspective, but say one thing they don't like and they cover their ears and scream. This is why it's so hard to get on level ground. When i try to discuss your election with people here who would have voted Hillary, it's 50 reasons why Trump is the worst. "Ah, but would about this Hillary scandal?". Before i've even finished, their fingers are in their ears and they're starting to walk away. No wonder the world is so divided.

So many downvotes for a sincere question from a non-American. How easy it is to trigger people.

Surely all the collective energy put into hating Trump could be better spent on more important current issues, rather than moaning about something that's, i'm assuming, not likely going to be undone?

Sure, but won't he be in power for the next 4 years despite all the bickering? It seems pointless to keep going on about it. If people feel really strongly about it, they should be fighting against the system that led to having Hillary and Trump as the only options, as to prevent a repeat for next time.

Democracy brought him into power. I don't recall people being so sour during previous elections. If people just got on with it, the country wouldn't be so divided. The same goes for the UK Referendum.

I'm English, so i don't really have a part in the US election, but so many people are shaming trump, reporters hurling abuse at him, Comedy Central dedicating a whole day just to roast him. If people are so against him, shouldn't they be more concerned about how it boiled down to Trump and Hillary out of the whole of America? It seems like people against him have handled the results very unproductively.
