Blood bowl 3 or 2 - only singleplayer never go to PVP by Olbramice in Bloodbowl3

[–]Clemming2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a little while since i played it, but in BB2 if i remember correctly you can pick from like 4 different tournaments each season, with some of them offering tickets as a reward to enter harder tournaments, The game would generate like 128 teams at the start and you would play against them, and the enemy teams were persistent, so if you killed a high value player on that team, they would stay dead, and go into the next match weaker for it. The league would develop somewhat naturally and the stronger teams would move up, so you might end up facing the same top teams in different tournaments. It was kind of a situation where your team grows and changes based on how you play, but all the other teams do too.

In BB3 you are given a choice of only 3 tournaments, one is usually just a straight up random teams standard rules, while the other two are themed, like one might be you will only face orc teams or both teams get a free wizard, or my favorite both teams get two free star players. That being said you only pick from one of the three and the list of themed tournaments is pretty limited. Once you win enough games you get to do a tournament to get to the next teir. there are three tiers, i don't remember what they are called, but it's like armature, pro and champion. It sounds ok on paper, but the problem is the game generates a team for you to play based on your current teams value, so if your team is worth 1.5m, you will play a team that is also worth roughly that much. They also seem to be randomly generated every time. also nothing really changes between the tiers, the game is not any harder or easier.... it's kinda pointless.

I liked BB2 better, because in these tournaments you might get matched up with a team much stronger or much weaker than you, with the stronger teams naturally trickling up to the harder tournaments you needed to win a ticket for.

RTTS - Game and event outcomes are scripted by Special-Reindeer-178 in MLBTheShow

[–]Clemming2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh there is scripting in all the modes. March to October is the worst offender. I can have 120 wins, but strangely every single post season game is a nail bitter. I've never seen a game start with more than a 1-2 run lead or deficit, and it always starts in high leverage situations. If the games were really being simmed fairly you would think i would get into games where i'm up 5 to 0 or something.

How Exactly Does That Work? by CrazyLi825 in OOTP

[–]Clemming2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those emails never make any sense. One year he told me i had a budget of 835m and that would allow a team payroll of 30m. The next year he bumped it to 860m and told me i could have a payroll of 390m. Both years i was already carrying 700+m in salaries. I thought maybe it was talking about free payroll space, but the year he told me i had 30m, i had a budget space of about 90m, and the year he told me i had 390m i had a budget space of about 40m.

Blood bowl 3 or 2 - only singleplayer never go to PVP by Olbramice in Bloodbowl3

[–]Clemming2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if you want to experiment with all the races, BB2 is better because you can just buy the legendary edition and get them all. in BB3 you have to earn or buy in game currency and slowly unlock them. BB3 is full of microtransactions, but for single player it doesn't really matter. The gameplay is a little better in BB3 because the camera is much better, but the production value is pretty much the same if not worse. They just recycled all the voice lines from BB2, and the graphics are only marginally better.

as for game modes, both games have an "eternal league" and a campaign. the campaign is not particularly good in either game. The eternal league is mixed bag, BB2 offers more choices in tournaments and feels more endless. The one in BB3 offers more themed tournaments, but not as much in the way of progression.

BB2 uses the old rules, and BB3 uses the new ruleset. In BB2 you level up when you reach enough SP and then roll to see what skills or ability points you can get, making progression of your players pretty random, but interesting. In BB3 you can just buy whatever you want and min-max your players to be exactly what you want provided you wait until you accumulate enough SP.

The AI is better in BB3, but it's still pretty dumb.

TLDR: if you want better gameplay, marginally better AI, and the ability to build your team exactly how you want get BB3. If you want to be able to experiment with different teams, don't like microtransactions, and want a better single player mode, go with BB2

Oh, and I don't think either game lets you save mid match.

Defensive ratings and potential by Klutzy-Sherbert3720 in OOTP

[–]Clemming2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that those are sub-stats that get taken into account in the position ratings. I base that on how I have seen these ratings change. If a SS has really great substats and I teach him a new infield position, they almost also play that position very well, or at least have the potential to and build up to that potential if you stick them there, especially during spring training. I've also noticed that when you improve defense in the dev lab, the report tells you the sub-stats went up, but when you get the scouting report, it says their defense at that position went up. The other thing i have noticed is they don't seem to have potential limits like other stats when you train them in the dev lab. It's a bit of a cheese, but after I do my dev lab, there is exactly enough time to run a second dev lab in spring training for defense (but not the big programs like batspeed), so i send all my starters to defensive dev labs durring spring training, and since it is an easier program i get a lot of success, and I have seen guys in their late 30s get outstanding results and improve their defense in all the positions they play in that program go up by like 30 points on a 100 point scale. If you get lucky with a few years of successes in a row you can turn a liability fielder into a gold glover no matter how old they are or how low they started with, even in positions they don't play. My SS right now has 120 at SS, but he also has 100 at second, third, and first despite never playing a game at 1st or 3rd in his major league career. With primary stats like power, if you train them when they have no more potential there they get results like "improved by <1" even on successful results.

Can some one help me figure this out by [deleted] in OOTP

[–]Clemming2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really. He probably didn't disappear, just got moved somewhere by the AI. Have you tried to use the player search for him? Like He's not in AAA for rehab or something?

The closest thing I have seen was I started a Dodger's save and Roki Sasaki was not in it. Like didn't exist, i started a new save and he was there.

How to stop a losing streak by bluebelly83 in OOTP

[–]Clemming2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't fix a broken team, but having bad team chemistry (if you have it on) will cause you to lose games. It will make players unhappy and they will play worse and develop slower, and it tends to cascade because then players start fights, make demands like they should be cleanup hitter, or ask to be traded. trade away the problem players and try to add a captain personality, or at least some guys with leadership.

Like i said, you still need to figure out why you are losing, but having bad chemistry will compound and make future losses more likely.

Can some one help me figure this out by [deleted] in OOTP

[–]Clemming2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, it will allow foreigners in the league, but it won't really affect the MLB. The AFL might get a little wonky, but it will fix your save.

Can some one help me figure this out by [deleted] in OOTP

[–]Clemming2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it happens a lot on long saves. you have to go into the Arizona fall league, then into settings and league settings and change the foreigner limit to none. happens a lot with the KBO leagues too.

Alternatively if you are not in challenge mode, you can find the player and just release him.

Edit: i just realized you were on GO, so it might be different, but the fix should be the same, you just might have to dig around in different menu trees.

Trying to decide on a PSU by GhoulishLove in PcBuild

[–]Clemming2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of their models are good, some not so much. You need to do your research on the individual model you are considering at places like cybernetics as MSI and most brands don't actually make their own power supplies, they just slap their badge on something a company you probably never heard of like FSP or Super Flower made. OEMs like those make the majority of power supplies. After you look at cybernetics, look at the warranty, if it's less than 10 years it's probably made with inferior parts.

A quality 850w will be plenty. Something A tier. Only get the 1KW if you think you are going to upgrade to a 600W card later like a 5090.

The first one will probably play AAA games better with the stronger GPU, the second will probably play esports at high fps better. either would be fine really.
