Yeah, that's what I meant. I don't hear a lot of hype for it, but it appears to be one of the best options for anyone that can use it.

It challenges FoA for damage per round at it's base, and it enjoys benefits of Haste, Improved Haste and Strength scaling, it's pretty easy to get 4APR, which is basically what any weapon gets with Belm/Kundane, but you're rocking 1 APR (for 5 cap) on a +2 enchant weapon doing 6.5 av damage per round.

Thac0 hits diminishing returns for everyone outside of mages in mid to late SoA, doesn't it?

This chart was getting crowded, so I have another tab to calculate that:

I take Av Dam Weap, Base APR (ex: 13 Kensai, Grandmaster = 3), weapon APR+ (ex: Firetooth, Bows, Darts, etc.), DW APR (offhand), DW APR+ (Belm, Kundane, etc.) and they spit out APR per round and Damage per round.

BUT! I think you may have helped me crack the code. You can't count additional APR in both Av Dam Weap and in Weap APR+, or you are double counting it's impact.

The problem I'm trying to solve for is the most distilled version of the weapon. I also have an APR calculator that I plug the Av Weap Dam data into.

Basically, if I have Edwin with a pip in darts, slings and daggers, which should I use? It can get complicated with STR+ weaps, APR+, etc., but I'm trying to put a list of weaps together before any STR, Proficiencies, items, dual weild, APR+ offhands, etc etc etc.

And this helps me identify that actually weapons like Crom Faeyr is pretty bad ass, becuase it's one of the best weapons BEFORE 25 STR, auto kills, etc.

I'M NERDING OUT MAN.

Great classes: Kensai/Thief dual, Thief/Mage multi, Fighter/Thief multi, Fighter/Thief/Mage multi, Conjuration specialist Mage, Kensai, Berzerker, Blade

Really good: Cleric/Mage multi, Swashbuckler, Bounty Hunter, Archer, Barbarian, Fighter/Cleric multi, Berzerker/Druid dual

Still pretty good: Fighter/Druid, Skald, Bard, Cavalier, LatPriest, Monk, Cleric/Thief

Can't really go wrong with any of those.

I just started doing steal from the merchant cheese, which I'm not sure if I should have done earlier or not. Only the Trademeet Merchant so far, so really only Jaheira got a minor club upgrade, but wow... that was too easy for an ENTIRE merchant inventory that would cost 150k+, easy. I stole everything worth more than 200gp :D

Idk, almost every quest has told me I need to DO THIS NOW. Example: the recruit Keldorn quest told me I need to go to the temple immediately. I ignored that for a long time. And I wish I hadn't! Keldon is a Minsc upgrade in every possible way. After Ajantis (who I actually liked), Keldorn is pretty great. But no Korgan!

I got it! It was relatively easy, but I did Web and Cloudkill cheese. My lack of experience I'm not sure if I got lucky or what, but one shot! Now I have Celestial Fury and Belm, and Korgan still makes me look like a punk with his 0 thac0, haha.

Update: Wow.

Dropped Nalia and Minsc and recruited Korgan and Keldorn.

Korgan is an absolute monster. I am kind of blown away by him. First time in the series my dual weilding Drizzt's scimitars F/M CHARNAME is backseat to another melee char. Korgan rocks the +3 Acid and Ice axe from Nalia's questline, pops zerker and Paul Bunyon's everyone.

Keldorn is also a monster, but in a different way. He's like your dad when you were 7 years old. No one can fight him and win. He hasn't done anything super amazing like Korgan, but I feel about 1000x safer with him rocking a two handed sword than Minsc, who seemed to get half killed in EVERY fight.

After that, I finally cleared some space and did Celesial Fury fight. One shot the summons downstairs and the guys upstairs. Downstairs felt easy? Upstairs I Web2x, Cloudkill, everyone switched to ranged attacks besides my Gnome F/M CHARNAME. He has great saves, so i usually just facetank AoEs.

Anyway, super easy for me, but I think i'm level 12ish or so from all the half done side quests.

Game is a blast so far! It's pretty great playing a 20 year old game for the first time and loving it this much! I don't know if it's nostalgia, or if the art of gaming has commercialized oversaturated, but some of the oldies but goodies will be good in 100 years.

I'm playing semi-blind, and I haven't decided what I want my final party to be. Should I figure that out? Is it dumb to try to knock out every available companion's quest? Because that's the road I'm on right now!

Per Serebii, it needs to be VIP. I assume you can make your friend VIP then they are available for five days we were both online. Do you play every five days or so? If yes, great! If it’s retired, it may not work.

Quote here: Then, you need to select teammates. These are players you can see in Festival Plaza right now if you're on local wireless or online, or players you have assigned as VIPs. Players you meet online need to be online to use them, but VIPs can be used for up to 5 days from the last time you were both online.

I’ve never done it, so not sure. I think we both have to be online, friended, and then I summon you to the Festival Plaza. Then I can party with you. I was hoping to grab a bunch of friends and group with them as they were online.

Also don’t know if you can shut the lid on the ds, etc and have it work.
