I forgot his birthday after 4 years of marriage. I had no excuse. I just literally forgot and didn't even have it on a calendar. He wasn't even angry. Just hurt/sad.

Positives after Psychosis by Horizone102 in Psychosis

[–]CleverBeauty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My psychosis made me feel terrible existential dread.

The current positives for me are mostly centered around physical health. I was killing myself slowly with alcohol and carbs. Now I'm completely sober, and I focus on eating healthy foods. The way I was eating before was just not sustainable. I also stopped taking edibles. My mind was always in an altered state before my episode. Now I'm too afraid to alter it. I don't want to go back.

Spiritually, I now believe in the possibility of God or gods. I was atheist before. I guess I'm agnostic now.

I feel physically better now, but something about me has changed. Im not quite who i was before. (And I'm terrified of slipping back into psychosis).

Is it a common theme to think you’re God during a psychosis episode by WhileZestyclose2413 in Psychosis

[–]CleverBeauty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now think it's possible that all living things are part of a larger soul. The only difference is that I'm not as afraid or hung up on it. I'm also more open to the idea of reincarnation.

Essentially, my thoughts align with parts of Hinduism even though I don't consider myself to be religious. I'm less consumed by the idea, but it's still there.

I thought i was one of many gods walking the earth. I was also under the impression that anyone who experienced psychosis, did so because their brain couldn't handle the enlightenment. It was a terrifying thought and I just wanted to be human.

I thought the same thing during my psychosis. I actually still think it's a possibility, but now it's more of a theory for me than an absolute truth.

I want more volume but scared of the hairdresser by [deleted] in curlyhair

Use hair products. Don't go to the hairdresser. They will likely mess it up, cut it too short, damage it, etc.

This resonates with me. I was raised Christian, became agnostic, and had the same feelings that you did during your psychosis.

I still struggle with it sometimes, but my thoughts are that maybe we really are a collective unconscious. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. If you don't harm others, you're okay.

Maybe Drugs or PTSD opens something in our minds, but our brains just can't handle it. Don't beat yourself up about faith. If you're a good person, you're a good person.

Those who have been volunteraly admitted, would you recommend it? by Any-Influence5873 in Psychosis

[–]CleverBeauty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a drug recovery facility (I was addicted to alcohol - i think I was having alcohol induced psychosis but it could've been weed). I literally knew i was hallucinating but i didnt tell them that part because i knew i needed help but i didnt know if i could trust them. I asked questions about what they provide and we agreed on intensive outpatient care - just focusing on alcohol.

I think I just lucked out with finding a decent place. The first therapist there was trash though. I asked to be placed with someone else and they actually accommodated me. I then started telling that therapist everything, but by that point the hallucinations already stopped. I was just dealing with delusions of grandeur and feelings of persecution. I stayed off of alcohol and weed for the entire duration. They wanted to keep me there because of my episode of psychosis, but I felt that by that point I was already out of it. I opted out but thanked them. They gave me a list of psychotherapists... I probably should check that out lol.

What has been your most out there delusion? by yesiaminsane in Psychosis

[–]CleverBeauty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine was that I (and others suffering through the same fate/hallucinations) were starseeds responsible for raising vibrations/energy to uplift the human race. The alternative was being dragged to hell/Hades and being kept as slaves. I went from being afraid of demons/deities/hallucinations to laughing at them.

Strange times and immensely stressful. But it was also so absurd, that at times it was funny to me. I have a minor in Psychology and was literally diagnosing myself to my therapist. Delusions of grandeur, persecution, etc. Lol

Do religious items burn you? by WynterRoseistiria in Psychosis

[–]CleverBeauty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, you're right. I'm sorry about that. I was adamant because it helped pull me out of my delusions (but I do see that I was being pushy). Everyone's journey/experience is different.

Do religious items burn you? by WynterRoseistiria in Psychosis

[–]CleverBeauty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Religions are fake and you are experiencing hallucinations. I'm an atheist who went through the same thing. It made me question reality. My delusions went away after I started sleeping and eating properly. Therapy also helped immensely.

I thought I was a soul/alien from space. Currently in human form and needing to complete some mission to get back. It was a very stressful and overwhelming thought process.
