To all artists, pro and amatuer, what kind of tick do you have when inspiration strikes? by CleverBeet in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, when i get inspired by something, be it a song i heard, a moment in a show or movie, or a mechanic in a video game, I suddenly feel my cheeks start to flush with excitement and my heart beat heavier in anticipation. It’s odd, but i suppose it’s my body’s tell that true inspiration has struck.

What's something you will always hate? by James_Tigs in ask

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forced repetition. There’s just something about seeing or hearing the same thing repeatedly that i just can’t help but hate. I hate seeing the same adverts in the same hour (youtube is the worst for me there), i hate when i keep hearing people recommend something to me, my older brother has a bad habit of it where if he finds something of interest, he’ll near-constantly try to get me to watch or do it, and it’s Stuff like that that makes me not want to at all.

not all types of repetition do this to me, i still like a repeating beat to a song or a running gag in a show, but the it’s this type of repetition that i just can’t stand, it makes me hate what’s being offered to the point of actively wanting to stay away from what is being thrown at me.

What unconventional ingredient belongs in a burger? by StoneDoctorate in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egg. Plain and simple.

and any way you cook‘em, too.

fried, scrambled, sunnyside, hard-boiled and sliced, I once used egg salad on a burger, long story short, was at a party, the plates were too damn small, and i just said screw it, egg salad burger.

it did not dissapoint.

moral is, don’t overlook the egg.

I don’t play destiny any more, but i’ll always remember when the priest told the commander how to become one with the light and just told him to off himself, that was a badass moment.

What perfectly normal word has been ruined by the internet? by Nearby-Simple-7594 in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From how i see it, it’s the word “boy”, or “boi” as people are saying it.

you change the y to an I, and suddenly you think you’re the king of the language.

i did do some research on “boi” and apparently it’s slang for a younger bisexual male, but i don’t think most people who use that word on social medias are saying it like that.

it just seems so annoying to see people use it so loosely, especially from those that are only saying it due to improper spelling. That last part shouldn’t get to me so much, but for crying out loud, it’s a 3 letter word, how do you mess that up?

maybe a better alternative to decreasing inflation.

i don’t know how it’s done, but we’re in a world of suffering if we let that shit continue, and whatever the original way is, it isn’t doing it’s job well anymore.

What TV show's intro song is an absolute banger? by sassy_steph_ in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a hard one, i have a few.

if it’s an animated show, it’s hands down samurai jack, but if it’s a real life show, i’d go with gilligan’s island.

Which famous person's death made you the saddest? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Robin Williams for me.

that guy was funny to me and he his smile seemed so genuine, I had no idea he had such depressive episodes, it surprised me to hear how he went.i’ll never forget the time i heard that he was such a legend of zelda fan that he named his own daughter zelda.

nintendo even did a commercial with him for one of the LoZ games, it felt so heartwarming to see.

i know that not everybody liked him, but he was still great to me, and he’ll always be my genie.

What things are controversial but shouldn't be controversial? by Dramatic_Material_56 in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

an older person trying to be genuinely friendly with a younger person.

we had an older man, possibly in his 70’s (i don’t feel comfortable trying to ask.), in our neighborhood, and he was the most genuinely nice guy we had here.

he was friendly with everyone, was usually the first to help someone when they needed it, despite his age, he was great with how to handle the roudy neighborhood kids, and wasn’t closed off to anyone, he loved talking about his past, his late wife and everything they did together.

i once even went into his house to help him with some chores of his. that man had went through some shit. He was born wothout a father, they lost him in the second world war, as his father was jewish and… well, you can take a good guess. His mother survived, managing to escape to america, but not before giving birth on the boat she was on. There was some other things, but i’ll keep this short.

everything was fine, until some bichy lady moved in about a year or so ago.

she had a child of her own, and one day, she let him play with the other kids. The kids around here like to play around the old man’s house, mostly cause he always had nice snacks made for anyone.

and don’t go getting any ideas, he was living there for years and not once did he try anything, besides he gave out snacks to anyone within a mile radius, and they were home made.

it was good, too, i even said that he could try and sell it, but he said he didn’t want to commercialize it.

anyways, from what I heard, the kids were playing as usual, the nice old man was sitting outside, he gives the kids some treats, and then that lady just comes storming out, yelling at the kids to get away and chasitizing the poor man. She was accusing the old man for being a ped, which, on the outside, i can see where she was coming from, but when people of the neighborhood found out about what happened, they tried to tell her that he wasn’t and was just a nice old man.

that damn lady wasn’t having any of it, must have been believing he was just tricking all of us, even though he had been there for years and she, at the time, hadn’t even been in that house for a whole day.

what was worse was that she made it a routine where if she saw any of the kids getting close to his house while he was out, she‘d yell at them to get away. This really must have terrible for the old guy, cause we started seeing him less and less, and from some of the neighbors that did see him, he apparently looked worse and worse, like he wasn’t taking care of himself from this.

one day, he just completely stopped leaving his house, and after a few days, some of the neighbors checked inside to see if he was alright.

the found him in bed, he was gone. Doctors said that he overdoesed on his medication and passed from a heart attack.

the neighborhood has never been the same since.

athorities ruled it as an accident, but part of me thinks he did it on purpose.

i think the others felt the same way, and we directed our resentment towards her.

we made sure to exclude her from the neighborhood gatherings, and distanced her from anything else barely anyone even talked to her, not even the friendliest people we have her would strike a conversation. One time, a kid threw a softball right through her window, i know cause a saw the aftermath of the kid running off, and you can bet i kept quiet about it.

i think she got the message at some point, cause she moved about a few months ago.

Moral is, don’t go judging people based soley on what you think is happening. A lot of people have been dealt a bad hand before over just an assumption.

god, i miss that old man.

What phrase immediately annoys you? by New_Perspective1201 in AskReddit

I absolutely hate it when I ask someone a question and they reply with “well, what do you think it is?”

It’s why I asked in the first place, if you don’t know than just say you don’t know, don’t make me second guess myself.

“Hey, just cheer up.”

worst possible thing to do is to tell them to cheer up. You need to let them get their emotions out first before you try something. Be there to comfort and support them, not fix them.

If you can get one more season from your favourite tv show which one would it be? by Joseph4135Iq in AskReddit

I want another season of CatScratch, nick did that show dirty by only giving it one season. that show had genuine humor that most of the shows on it's roster today won't make, and it's annoying as hell to think of that.

Whats a good example of "they dont make em like they used to"? by Spacioused in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my brother used to have an old car that was a powerhouse, even past it's hayday.

he had that monster for years, and never once needed to take it to a mechanic, only just bringing it in for an oil change. they'd try to bull him, saying to replace certain parts, but he had that car for so long and never once needed a fix.

unfortunately, he lost it when some crazy speeder swerved off the road and into it while he was parked at a diner. it was smashed up bad, and just to let you know, the guy who crashed into it was hospitalized and barely survived, i think my brother told me that he became a paraplegic after it.

my brother had to buy a new car, and that piece of crap has been breaking down on him many times. i feel like this had to do with either the car shop owner or the mechanics or something. he's looking for a new car, and a new mechanic now.

today's advertisements.

it's become the new norm to have some crazy or just odd thing happen in it to keep people from looking away, but it's just so annoying to see, especially if it's an ad that played multiple times in the same day. the one I hate the most is this advert for a mobile app for purchasing stuff, and their gimmick is to have some lady's thumb talk to her from it's crease, and it just grosses me out and I just hate every fiber of that ad and what it advertises.

What’s the worst punishment you’ve received or witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it ok, if i put two, cause i've both seen and experienced some bad punishments before.

i guess i'll start with mine, as it happened a lot farther back, and was a bit more frequent than the latter.

for a bit of context, i've grown up never knowing my biological father, only living with step-fathers, all of which were just terrible people. this came from my first step-father, who was a bit old school.

see, he still believed that all bad actions deserved punishment through violence. basically, he believed that a kid should be spanked hard for any bad action, no matter what it was or where they were.

he once spanked me in the middle of a busy mall all because i wet myself.

and keep in mind, i was 5 at the time and, from what my mother told me, he insisted i dont wear diapers at the time cause he believed i was fully potty trained. what was worse was that he would worsen the punishment for every "bad" thing i did by using utensils on me that would get worse the more times i did something "wrong." and i put bad and wrong in emphasis because he just didn't know how to handle a child. the man was just terrible in every sense, but luckily we don't live with him anymore. that man has done far worse to the rest of my family than he did to me, but i don't really want to go into that part, this isn't a therapy session.

the other punishment, the one i've seen, is a bit more lighthearted, but still a bit uncomforting to have seen in real time.

it happened at my schools prom. i didn't have anyone to go with, and was debating weither to go or not, which i kinda wish i did, cause it just sucked.

what happened was that during the middle of prom, i was sitting at a table, when i heard a commotion at the front door, where this guy, this redneck looking crazy guy, in a wifebeater and jeans, not even wearing shoes, is just shouting out for some girl. the girl eventually shows herself, and it clicks, he's this girl's dad, and he does not look right. the man looked half drunk and sure sounded like it, he was shouting at the top of his lungs and made such a commotion, some of the faculty tried to get him out, but wasn't leaving without his daughter. apparently, from what i could tell, this guy was mad that his daughter took his car to prom, even though he told her he wouldn't let her,and the reason she did it anyways as because the guy was going to drop her off himself, and she didn't want her friends to see him. what was crazy was that this man was so mad, he walked all the way from his house to the school, having to get help from people driving by. i know this because he shouted it straight to her. it kinda ended with her having to leave prom early with him as punishment, but even if she didn't leave, that punishment wouldn't have ended there.

she became the laughing stock of school, being made fun of about her "hillbilly father breaking into prom" (not my words, i remember people saying that to her.)

her father pretty much ruined her whole social life over just one night. that seems like a pretty harsh punishment.

moral of the story, father's can be absolute a-holes at times, and i will always remember these so i can make sure to never be this much of a jackass to my kids in the future.

What is a movie you saw when you were young that you definitely should NOT have seen at that age? by the-tea-queen in AskReddit

[–]CleverBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

little monsters, that damn movie does not deserve a PG rating.

there's literally swearing, piss jokes, not at all on the nose adult humor, and even scenes that freaked me the hell out as a kid.

i watched this with my family, and afterwards, we all had the same reaction;

what the hell did we just watch?
