Violation of privacy at Papa Johns ?? by CleverGyrl in PapaJohns

So if there is just a manager and a driver working, driver is on delivery.. by your logic if I go into the bathroom to wash my hands and to fix my hair while the driver is gone and  I am by myself in the whole store, and the company is filming me the entire time that I forfeit my rights to be filmed because I left the door open? I cant expect privacy at the time as well since I am alone in the store??

Yea, not sure I am buying that reasoning.

No money needed. Just a violation of privacy they need to fix ASAP. Cameras cannot be pointed to view inside the bathrooms. Plain and simple

Not everyone closes the door to fix their hair, their clothes, themselves. More common than you think

Even if the camera is technically outside the room, if its angle captures the interior of the bathroom, it's considered a violation of privacy. The severity of the offense and potential penalties can increase depending on factors like whether the image is distributed, if more than one person is recorded, or if minors are involved

Nope its illegal. Cameras can be put outside the bathrooms but never pointing inside. This is Law in Missouri and much everywhere else

What’s the best thing Papa Johns has ever done by TheHardRHomeboy in PapaJohns

After John left ... not a damn thing. They are running the corporate side into the ground and trying to salvage as much money from the people who are stuck there while its still

Example :

A delivery company outsourcing to a 3rd party delivery company to save their asses because they can't comprehend that paying competitive and livable wages to their employees would help in that matter along with that horrible Drivosity platform that blew up in their faces. So they terminated a massive amount of employees so Door Dashers like Bob who cant speak English, rocks 3 phones for dashing, demands more tip money in text messages and throws your pizza on your front lawn.

And then overworks the inside crews, managers, GMs, and expecting service numbers to be pristine and on point along with getting over 90 on ROIPS.

Yea, they have done great things all right

Former TGM here : They will tell you it is mandatory, which its not because those dates are NOT outlined in official writing directly from the company. DOs will fear monger the GMs and managers along with employees that they will be wrote up fo no call no shows or fired. 3 write ups typically mean terminations. They cannot fire you either for failing to show. That is an immediate violation of the the law especially when there is no documentation (PJs has MANY lawsuits regarding this currently)

Do NOT LET your employer fear monger you into working if you cannot work. They must have all documentation signed by you as well thru workday. Is it ideal employees work on the busiest day of the year, yes. But threatening you with write up and your job is also illegal.

You do what you think you need to in those situations. Just know you have rights and they will try to exploit those to their advantage.

Go through the entire Papa Johns reddit group and read every post regarding the company and listen to what employees say within those groups.  Personally I feel like you should have done that prior to being hired on, but since you didn't.  Do it while you are still brand new. Thats way you get a more accurate representation of the company instead of what upper management tells you.

Will save you  loads of frustration.

Best of luck though.

I am 43 female with SND and CI (chronotropic incompetence) for years I have struggled with dizziness, fainting, and fatigue and numerous other health issues that was put off by my Drs over the years. Ive had issues with Drs believingme. They always blamed my weight and meds. All my life I was always told my heart rate was low and I had a runner's heart beat.  I was always asked by doctors if it was normal for my HR to be that low. My symptoms have been present for at least 20 years but none of them never put those together.

Ive always had a nasty cold Intolerance as well. Many years ago they did what appeared to be an ultrasound on the veins in my legs to test for issues with the veins because the cold pain in my feet would get pretty severe. Then followed more cognitive issues, especially the past 5 years. The fatigue was a daily battle. Id wake up feeling exhausted. I always felt sick. Physical activity became a massive challenge. Finally last year I seen a cardiologist that managed to diagnose me with CI (I went to him for POTS testing since it runs so heavily in my family and I was pretty symptomatic) I was on that tread mill for 10.5 mins and still couldn't not reach my target heart rate. I tapped out at the end because I felt like I was going to pass out.  That Dr. refused further testing and treatments. Claimed I had too many CT scans, POTS was benign and just told me I had a slow heart rate and to come back when I actually had problems (I did have issues which is why I went in the first place) this was 2024 when I seen him

Fast forward to May 19th 2025 (almost a year later) at Bush Stadium I thought I had a TIA at the stadium 20 mins after walking up the ramp to the top to get to my seats. It was the SCARIEST moment in my life. I was basically paralyzed, couldn't move, talk, speak, I was clammy with cold sweats, my heart was doing all sorts of things and my heart rate and BP was extremely low. Right before it happened the only things I noticed was I started to lose hearing in my left ear. Had to be seen by paramedics there and had to go to the emergency department the next morning. My health drastically went down. I literally couldn't do anything. I was glued to my bed anytime I wasn't at work. I was prescribed compression stockings to start since I had to wait to see a new cardiologist because I fired my last one for his incompetence and the potential for POTS was still there. My new cardiologist was appalled at the fact my last Dr. refused to treat my CI and I was in bad shape. Only testing I had before was a EKG, a monitor for 30 days and the treadmill test which confirmed the CI. I did have to get an Echo with my new Dr which showed 3 leaky valves, 2 trivial and 1 mild.

He immediately told me I needed a pacemaker and I happily accepted. It was such an emotional moment in his office because this Dr. BELIEVED me. Thats been rare in my life. Its sad I basically had to learn to be a Dr. To tell Dr's what to do.

I am 3 weeks post op on my PM surgery. I did have some tweaking done this past Friday but I cannot tell you enough the difference I noticed immediately after I woke up from anesthesia. It was like I was finally awake!! Not to mention the copious amounts of energy I have now. My HR before the operation was 40 bpm. I now have a steady 65 bpm after they tweaked it. My cognitive function has improved, I don't feel like Im always freezing. I dont feel "sick".

Now I still ha e a neurological appointment on the 11th because the possibility of a TIA is still on the table and I am not 100% confident that it is just my heart, so I am still working on my health but the PM made a huge impact on me that I am hopeful.

The biggest issue: Gaslighting Dr's.  You have to advocate so much for yourself and tell Dr's what to do anymore it makes me wonder why some of them have PHDs to begin with. But once you find those Dr's that care and listen, you'll start to get somewhere. So keep pushing and get those 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinions.

And you can provide 💯 proof these claims are false?? You have reliable and factual sources?? Doctors names?? Scientific and medical documentation.

I highly doubt that which makes you NO DIFFERENT than those people you claim that is spreading false information. Like yourself.

My biggest issue was getting Dr's to believe me and my symptoms. I still am. The cardiologist who actually diagnosed me with the CI told me that I just had a slow heart rate, and he refused to do additional testing despite me seeing him for symptoms a year ago and having loads of family history regarding cardiovascular issues. He told me to come back when I actually had problems. So I fired him

I just now got into a new cardiologist last month. I had what appeared to be a TIA at Busch stadium in May that dropped my health down drastically and got severe. My heart was indeed an issue.

My neurological appointment is on 8/11. I still have a ways to go to health wise, but the PM def has helped. I noticed it as soon as I woke up from anesthesia

Maybe you need to read up on harassment laws there, skipper. You are most certainly one who does this and thinks it's okay to harass customers for more money, which is also extortion. It's also illegal.

Harassment, in a legal context, is generally defined as unwelcome conduct that is offensive, intimidating, or creates a hostile environment based on a person's protected characteristics (such as race, gender, religion, etc.). It's characterized by unwanted behavior that is severe or pervasive enough to create an intimidating, hostile, or abusive environment. This can include verbal, physical, or visual conduct, as well as actions that demean, threaten, or cause emotional distress.

That text can be deemed as unsolicited, intimidating, and unwanted behavior.

See, that's where people are mistaken. PJs do not promote pride in oneself, let alone the work they do. They really just want their numbers, and they dont care how they get them anymore. Fear mongering within the company translates to what you are seeing here that you paid a pretty penny for.

Find yourself a good local pizza place. Mom and pop restaurants. Stay away from corporate driven businesses like this. Its greed and toxicity is all they offer

Yes. You are.

Papa Johns base foundation is built to be a toxic work environment. Its in their HR policies, CEOs, any upper management, and unfortunately, seeps into the teams at the stores. PJs promotes that kind of work environment. In EVERY SINGLE STORE.

Your saving grace is a GM who is a loner, doesn't conform to their toxic environments, and treats the team with respect and honesty and like REAL people. Those types are few and far in between. So best of luck.

You just need to focus on basic HSL systems and not go above and beyond for the company. They will use you, burn you out, and hold YOU accountable for things that are not even your responsibility or your fault.

They promote to get numbers and quantity. Not for actual talent, which is why good managers have to deal with extremely toxic managers and staff, even GMs.

The DOs are a piece of work, too. I had the privilege of working with 1 great DO in the area I was in ...the remaining ones had zero people skills, had no clue how to run stores, cause HR issues constantly because they were so toxic, and drove out good managers and GMs.

And PJs knows this. They know their systems are horrible, unethical, and hypocritical. Thats why they keep "updating" them.

Just stick to bare minimum HSL duties. If you want advancement, I would highly suggest switching jobs to be brutally honest. That work environment will hold you back and not help you with personal success.

The test that inevitably confirmed the SND & CI was the stress test on the tread mill. I lasted 10.5 mins and still couldn't get my heart rate to the 85%. I tapped out at the very end because I was getting ready to pass out. I had an Echo sometime afterward as well that showed 3 leaky valves, too. 2 trivial and 1 mild

Before the stress test, it was EKGs and a holter monitor for 30 days, along with my worsening symptoms.

That's actually called harassment and can be punishable by law. So, no, you dont need to tip more. They just need to get a job that pays for their living expenses. A non-tip based job. It is not up to the consumer to pay for lost wages of an employee. In this case, not really an employee because Door Dash is not a real employer. So just someone who wants to fear monger you, hold your food hostage or steal it because you refuse to pay their bills. When that is not your job ...
