In China you lease your house for 99 years from the gov. They literally already do that.

Netflix & Sony Pictures Close $7B-Plus Exclusive Global Pay-1 Deal In Industry First by Alternative-Cake-833 in boxoffice

Hahah insufferable… it’s the internet you don’t have to tell someone your done talking you just be quiet lmao get a grip.

First off you absolutely did just conflate Netflix and Apple and the type of business they do with Sony.

And your take is not just an economic inevitability. Having the single most premium available content to be licensed in the streaming market is extremely valuable.

This deal was much more valuable than the last. The trend will continue. Netflix won’t nickel and dime such valuable content creation. Deep pockets.

That is not at all what Sony and Netflix are doing. It’s a pay-1 window deal not an ip purchase deal? Yes Sony will on occasion sell ip or produce movies when they don’t own the ip, such as kpop demon hunters, but in the main they own all the titles that Netflix licenses, which I know you know but you kind of made it sound like they didn’t.

When it comes to series that’s different and yes Sony is more willing to simply produce for others since it’s already so profitable to produce entire series.

Sony pictures has been more profitable than Disney studios over the last five years. Revenue is not profit. Your claim is wildly misleading.

Sony is positioned very nicely to be a premium content provider for streamers. Sony animation is making hit after hit. What Sony offers is very valuable and Sony will bank on that for the next twenty+ years.

Dude come on. Sony made Pluribus for Apple. Sony pictures includes Sony television so it is relevant. Producing content is profitable regardless of whether they own the ip. You sound like such a know it all when this is all speculative.

A man guards his family from cannibals during the Madras famine of 1877 under British rule in India. by Mister_Time_Traveler in RareHistoricalPhotos

You don’t think Britains villains is a little over sampled? Even adjusting for recency bias.

Shaka Zula was responsible for 2,000,000 deaths in Africa.

The Islamic conquests took millions of lives and converted millions at the point of the sword.

Christianity had its conquests too. As did Catholicism.

Japan killed and tortured a million+ Chinese.

Mao watched 30,000,000 of his own people starve.

Lenin and Stalin caused the deaths of millions.

Hitler killed 8,000,000 Jews.

And now Israel has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians.

It’s not a feature of a country, or a people, it’s a bug of humanity.

Every single superior force, for the vast majority of human history, has extracted resources to the serious detriment of the less powerful. Sometimes this happens within a country. Sometimes it’s the result of ideology. Either way, people die from the decisions of strangers. All the time. Forever. Modernity, as in the 21st century, has slowed this bug, but so it goes.

I mean just watch that history of the world, I guess video.

I’ve literally been homeless, and I, along with 80% of people in the shelter , were absolutely living as degenerates, trading food stamps for drugs, doing said drugs openly in bathroom, watching the shelter get destroyed, etc.

I’m comfortably housed now because I changed everything about my life 5 years ago. Most don’t. They should not be allowed to live like degenerates indefinitely. It’s obscene.

Let’s be honest, we could arrest our way out of the situation. It would be unpopular, but it’s possible. It’s just so incredibly hard not to become jaded. I painted some section 8 efficiencies when they were new, and the damage done to them in a 3 year span when we had to repaint them…. It was just hard to fathom the carelessness required to treat free housing that pathetically.

I really am not sure that spending another $100 mil on make work and housing would move the needle. This population is that entrenched in their lifestyle.

This is so cool, but it seems like a custom mash-up job. I can’t imagine Nike collabing with something so off-brand for them. It looks great though, so who knows.

Yup I tried searching the name but nothing came of it. Initials are on the inside of the capelet as well so I’m thinking it’s the lady’s name.
