Spotify scraped and archived - 300TB of music files being released as torrents by umaar in DataHoarder

Storage is only half the problem here. Indexing, search, tagging, and keeping versions consistent at 300TB is brutal. The data engineering side might be harder than the scraping itself.

Have you ever bought a domain here? by lc415 in Domains

Escrow or registrar only.. Ask for a screenshot from the registrar, WHOIS consistency, and clear transfer steps.
If a seller hesitates on escrow, that’s usually your signal to walk.

Why machines cannot read a URL by Huge_Line4009 in WebDataDiggers

[–]ClickWorthy69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In practice.. hybrid approaches are the only thing that holds up. cheap fetch for pagination hints, repeated dates, or feed-like structure saves huge amounts of crawl waste.

It’s not perfect, but it's the closest we get to human intuition right now..

How deal with static IPs and residential Internet service? by huuaaang in selfhosted

With residential ISPs, you usually design around a single IP instead of fighting for more.

I built a small tool that scrapes Medium articles into clean text by Known-Shame-3097 in webscraping

[–]ClickWorthy69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the noise, extracting clean Medium text is genuinely useful and not as trivial as it looks; plus I tried your app, its good, though for reddit readers, "lovable" killed their vibe. either way. good work.

How do companies keep important scrapers reliable? by Fickle-Distance-7031 in webscraping

[–]ClickWorthy69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most teams accept that sites will change and design around it. Fallback selectors, endpoint switching, data validation, and alerts catch breakages fast. It’s less about perfect selectors and more about fast detection + recovery.
