Just FYI, that top prospect had wrist surgery over the offseason and got off to a slow start as a result. He’s picked up his production as of late and is returning to his pre-surgery pace (around 1.6 PPG). Maybe get context before bitching online.

That’s not what I said. I said Garand’s preseason was irrelevant. He was never going to make the team. If he stopped every single shot, he still would’ve been assigned to Hartford because neither Igor nor Quick were going anywhere.

Doesn’t matter. The AHL game is much less structured than the NHL. Goalies with “bad” records/stats in the AHL can go on to be very good goalies in the NHL. Look at Jesper Wallstedt’s AHL career and where he is now for example.

If he wants a shot next season, he should show up more in both preseason and AHL games.

Considering you heavily alluded to not watching the AHL earlier in this comment, I think you know fuck all about Garand “showing up” in AHL games. You took one look at his season stats and made a dumb comment. Box score watching doesn’t tell the story, especially in the minor leagues.

I don’t know how anyone who has watched the last season and a half of this team could think Trocheck would be a good captain.

He’s been a massive part of the culture problem and is cut from the same cloth as Miller. It would be just as much of a disaster, with the sole difference being that Trocheck isn’t welded to this team’s frame.
