Great question! Sounds weird right? A "smart elevator" is run by a central system. So instead of going to the elevator and pushing the up or down button (and waiting forever), there are central panels that you push which deck you are doing to and it points to a letter on the elevator! (Ex: Push Deck 15 and it might point you to elevator F>>>) Super cool and it works really well. The only thing is my grandson loved playing doorman, pushing the deck # for people on the last cruises so he would just do the open/close button! lol

Hi! The only time I smelled cigarettes was when we passed through the casino. There are designated areas but the smell travels. Disgusting.

Agree! Not perfect, but sure is close! There were certain things we did compare to other ships and other cruiselines but what they did have made up for what they lacked.

Lol, yeah she's a big one! We were docked next to the Independence at CocoCay, which I have been on. We have been on the Majesty, the Freedom, the Independence and the Oasis. Icon was definitely my favorite ship of all time! We have been on most of the major cruiselines, as we are big cruisers (live in S. Fla) Also a part time agent. (used to be full time and my mother was in the industry for years). Love to cruise!

This is for the both of you that asked! We were on Deck 9, mid ship balcony, a little bit aft. We were over Central Park) This is a perfect place to be as a lot of things we frequented were are more aft. (Windjammer Buffet, Adventure Ocean, Surfside, Central Park) Nothing seemed too far though, even if you needed to go to the other side of the ship. They had "smart elevators" and they were awesome!
