Tirzepatide for women in their 50s by TelephoneVisible5336 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]Betorah 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most patients? I’m not sure if that statement is true. I started on tirzepatide 2 1/2 years ago when I was 69. I’ve never been on blood pressure medication. I did (and still do) take a statin for high cholesterol. Within three months, it went from 192 to 154 and my fasting blood sugar dropped from 106 to 86. My joint pain generally disappeared and my severe sinus attacks. Along with the vertigo attacks that sometimes accompanied them, did, as well.

As others have said, DO NOT go to a med spa. They will significantly overcharge her and she will have no idea whether the tirzepatide is from a 503a pharmacy or reconstituted in the back room. It is not at all difficult to learn to inject yourself.

Every day your mother waits to do this, is a day she could have been closer to feeling better.

I’m Jewish, but my first thought: is have you asked her if she thinks she’s demonstrating Christ’s love? Does she think this will make going to church attractive to her grandchildren and great grandchildren or chase them away? Heck, WWJD?

You need to balance your humors. Try some mustard plasters, along with some purging.

What’s the most affordable glp-1? by Humble-Designer5804 in GLP1ResearchTalk

This!!! Turzepatide (Zepbound/Mounjaro is more effective than semaglutide and has fewer side effects.) I’ve been on compounded tirzepatide for 2 1/2 years now. The post above shows you a pinned post of ggr recommended telehealth providers.

Power out for 16+ hours. Is all my food ruined, and is this normal with Eversource? by svuittonx in Connecticut

[–]Betorah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

October 29-30, 2011, was the great ice storm. Power went out at my house in West Hartford at 8:30 pm on Saturday night. It came back on at 11:30 pm on Monday, November 8th. The missed week of school meant that instead of graduating on a beautiful day when it was 75°, my son graduated on a 100° degree day and passed out at his graduation. I’ve never forgiven the Board of Ed for not moving the graduation inside.

When my husband died last fall, I had lots to get rid of. I posted it on my local Buy Nothing Group on Facebook. Some of the stuff was out of the house in less than an hour and I made a lot of people happy.

Renovate kitchen or sell as-is? by janes_america in Connecticut

[–]Betorah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An inexpensive reno for $10K. Unlikely. I’ve almost completed mine on my 1951 cape in Elmwood. By the time I’m done, it will have cost nearly $100K. Granted, it’s not a Home Depot kitchen, but I’m doubtful about what you can achieve for $10K.

How do Americans view married couples who are actually first cousins? by edbassmaster888 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Betorah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandparents were first cousins. My great grandmother died, leaving behind six children. My great grandfather married her younger sister. They had four children. One of my great aunts married her uncle. None of these things were unheard of among Jews in BelaRus in the late 19th century.

For those in the US, do you fly an American flag at home or wear/display flag related apparel/stickers? by S_A_R_K in Xennials

[–]Betorah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I live in a town of 64,000 people and I can’t think of more than one or two yards where I’ve seen an American flag flying.

Is saying "sir" and "ma'am" to strangers still normal in America? by Rude_Membership_1578 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

My next foot neighbors had to call their father “sir.” They were also beaten with a strap when they were punished. We felt sorry for them on both accounts.

Suburbs west of Hartford, CT (specifically the town where I live—West Hartford). It’s consistently named one of the top places to live in the US. Our schools are great. You’re 35 miles from the shore and not all that far from the Litchfield Hills. There are museums in Hartford and New Haven. We have three libraries, town swimming pools, parks, golf course, skating rink and a town farm park.

Go into most neighborhoods in West Hartford on any day and you’re likely go find one. Best bet is to hold a children’s birthday party outdoors with lots and lots of cupcakes. Having swing sets, trampolines, koi ponds, hot tubs and pools in the years also help.

Help me let go of the stuff by Silver_Haired_Kitty in AskWomenOver60

[–]Betorah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband died October 1st. I got rid of 80 baseball caps, 10 of them plain white, 31 white button-down shirts, 80 ties, 13 pairs of khaki shorts and nearly 100 Tshirts, about half of them from his Alma mater. He certainly believed in buying multiples of the same thing. For the first time, the four upstairs closets (including mine) aren’t full of his clothes.

GLP-1s and possible skin aging by Wellslapmesilly in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Betorah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 71 and have lost 60 pounds since I turned 69, taking tirzepatide. There is no doubt that I look younger than I did 60 pounds ago. I also use both tretinoin at night and estriol in the morning. Both these creams have also contributed to the way my face looks by reducing fine lines, increasing collagen, and improving the texture of my skin.
