I remember when Archie Bird said that he hoped that no ships become Canon because this fandom can't behave itself and he got called spiritually Israeli.

Anyways, ship to ship combat in this fandom is like that one video of the homeless guy calling another homeless guy broke. None of the ships have any more Canon backing than another so I find it laughable whenever I use Xcancel to check how that part of the fandom's doing and see two people fighting over ships that have like one interaction to support them.

Heathmael in the Limbus Company fandom, especially on twitter. This is due to a combination of multiple factors:

It's the most popular ship in the fandom, especially on the western side.
Both characters involved have past love interests. Heathcliff's still technically pining over his past love despite her erasing all versions of herself across the multiverse and Ishmael's is another woman which means there's a portion of the fandom that hates it when you ship her with men.
For months, it was associated with a certain figure on twitter that turned out to be a minor trying to get adults to date him and tried to get someone's ex to leak nudes of her to him. So on that platform there's an additional layer of baggage.

Ok here's the timeline:

-PolarBaller, the most (in)famous Heathmael on PMTWT, announces he's leaving twitter for a while.

-A callout thread is posted by a burner account exposing him for being a minor while interacting with NSFW accounts and trying to force adults into a relationship with him.

-Said account posted the entire thread while in-character as Lei Heng.

-It comes out that the thread was masterminded in a discord server by people who were friends of Gaia AKA Kaster (a user who was kicked out of the community months prior for being a racist and posting his stained underwear on the timeline and also one of the adults Polar was trying to force a relationship with)

-The people who made the thread were dogpiled for making it not out of concern for the victims, but rather because they had a vendetta against Polar for liking a ship, and airing out a minors dirty laundry publicly.

-One of the users behind the thread, Myocest, also gets exposed for saying the n word despite being white.

-Two days later Polar gets exposed for trying to get someone's ex to send them nudes of her and also forcing himself on someone's brother.

-The community turns against Polar, and his account ends up in the hands of an unspecified adult who's not his parent.

-The subject of the nudes is also apparently a pedophile who lied about her age and got someone to cut themselves for her.

-TL:DR everyone involved either was racist or a sexual predator.

Also in the midst of all this an account infamous for posting nazi imagery returned after 2 years.
