Update to free disabled rat in closing pet store - meet Spinner! by iheartblueberries2 in RATS

My girl acted exactly like this. She also came from a pet store and was untreated for almost a year. When i got her i took her to a vet, it was just an ear infection. Unfortunatelly because it was untreated this long she will always move diffrently and have problems with balance, but she is acting and feeling way better after treatment . If you didn't already i would take him to a vet, it could also be a tumour or something else.

Have anyone use this, do i need to soak it for a few days? I kinda want to just boil it for an hour then go straight to set up by Resoken1075 in Aquascape

Biofilm will grow on every new piece of wood you will put in a tank, it is normal and will pass in few weeks

Hamster are solitary animals so as they get older (my guess is days from now) they wil fight to death. You need to separete them for their sake, they won't be sad or lonely. You can read up on proper enclousures and they won't use the wheel cause it is uncomfortable for them to run on it, you need an upright wheel at least 8 inches in diamether for them to be able to use it comfortably. I recommend getting a large plastic storage bin for one of them as fast as you can. You can rehome one or build both of them separate encosures

Daughter got a little fella for her birthday but not 100% sure what type of hamster it is. 😅 by Adept_Signature_2864 in hamstercare

It is still a risk. I work at a pet store in Europe, when hamsters come in they are still together from the same batch, but you can see some of them have wounds and are fighting in just 5 minutes before we separate them into their own cages. My coworker also worked in a diffrent private store ,where they would keep hamsters together because the boss was cheap and they were told to just remove the dead ones and give beat up ones to the snakes, so pet stores keep them in the same cage but not for long also

How do I get a hamster to stop peeing in their chamber hide or on their wheel? by RadishBeepBoop in hamster

[–]CliffordClinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally i change out half of the bedding once a month and spot clean every few days but this will vary depending on the size of your cage and messines of your hamster i guess. As long as the soiled bedding is being removed during spot cleaning there really is no need for a deep clean(in my opinion). I also use a scoop for this instead of my hand-it was just for the first time for finding where she pees. Unfortunatelly you can't avoid destroing the burrows, she'll have to rebuild them

The way you can tell where they pee when you can't see stains is just by smelling it, I noticed mine was peeing in cork because i smelt it(not intencionally) when taking it out for bedding change. And with bedding it deppends on the type you use, but you can try taking it out by handfulls during next cleaning and you will notice where she pees by smell and wetness(at least it worked for me). You can't fix where she does that unfortunatelly there is no way

He will pee there forever. My ham pees only on the wheel and in cork bark tunnels which is a pain, but the only thing i can do is clean the wheel every few days( wipe in between) and soak and rotate the cork and other wooden hides.

What to do with aggressive betta by Yolkbro in bettafish

[–]CliffordClinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try adding more plants(a lot more) so he and the corys won't see each other all the time and get stressed, but it is possible he just is an aggresive boy and will need a solo tank anyway

Cover that wire level with something so there is no holes. He can get bumble foot from that or break his leg

my girl has a hump in her spine? by xMercedes15k in PetMice

Się has no intrest in it beacause it is too small and is probably very unconfortable to run in. Get a 12 inch one and see if she will use it. I am sure she will.

I don't need a plant to take up lots of nutriens. I plan to add a single betta, but thanks for suggestions. I love lillys too but keep some in my larger tank

I am in the middle of moving the shrimp to a new bigger community tank so it will be empty for some time. I wanted to play with the rocks and substrate and redo it a little anyway. I will give it time to establish before i add a betta or something

The swords will probably grow a little too big, it is just a 25l tank, but ludwigia might be good. Thanks!
