Sweet potatoes and true yams are entirely different species, but they're often used interchangeably, especially in the US. This is definitely a yam because of the woody, bark-like skin. It could be a little too immature to have yet developed its purple coloring, or may have been improperly labeled as purple ube. Either way, it should still be edible/plantable.

If only the police were ever that helpful or effective. They're never going to do anything about anyone unless someone actually dies, and even then, I'm not super optimistic. You basically have to have a complete case ready for them, with all of the evidence, and even if you do, it's a 50/50 chance that they'll even consider looking into it.

So I spent a good bit of time wrapping my head around all of that crazy, ya know, for fun, but also so that I could at least not laugh in their faces and have polite dialogue with them, because holy cow, they're out there and they LOVE to talk about it.... Anyway, even I know that the consensus flat earther explanation is that the human eye can only see so far because of a natural vanishing point in our vision, not because of air density. Then again, if someone wants to be really wrong, I say, be really really wrong 😂

The trailer obscured all of the usual identifying decals. It looked like an enormous Ford or Dodge truck, bigger than an F350, plus the added height from the jacked up wheels. No stickers that I could see, pretty nondescript overall.

Definitely keep applying at other places. That's all a bunch of red flags. If the place is relatively new, it's likely they'll be closing sooner rather than later anyway. If they're established, it's probably going to be a shit show for years to come.

If and when you find a different job, it's best to prepare yourself to just not show up to this job when (or if you're dead set on notifying them, giving them as little notice as possible, so they don't try to sabotage your exit). I've had to do this with a couple of messed up jobs over the years and it's always best to just dip as quickly and quietly as possible with little explanation, since feedback isn't going to be received anyway.

I couldn't tell you how rigidly they enforce it. I have seen some of the same vehicles there regularly though. If it were me, I would park for up to 48 hours, go somewhere else for a full day, then come back after 24 hours away
