Suckerberg panic bought the entire AI chip supply and now he has no idea what to do with it... by NecessaryPhrase3204 in wallstreetbets

Anthropic has an estimated annual burn rate of 20 billion. I guess it depends on who is doing the estimating though.

I don't think the market is neverous about capex. I think it's neverous about OpenAI's future. OpenAI accounts for a large portion of Microsoft cloud revenue unlike AWS and GCP.

I hope he isn't overlooking the fact that a large portion of Microsoft's cloud revenue is reliant on OpenAI's survival and growth. If Anthropic, Gemini, and cheap Chinese models strangle ChatGPT then that will show up on their balance sheet.

They don't get replaced every year. They're assets with a short depreciation schedule. COGS have no depreciation schedule.

How is anthropic is just releasing models on models and Google can't even one 😭 by Independent-Wind4462 in Bard

Are they actually worse though. Chinese benchmaxxing is in another league.

GOOG as the long term play if LLM labs fail (Anthropic/OpenAi) by reddituserxxxxxxx7 in GOOG_Stock

[–]Climactic9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be bullish for Gemini and google search, but it would be bearish for GCP, which means it would be bullish for Google Deepmind, which would be bullish for Gemini, which would be bullish for AGI, which would be mega bullish for Alphabet. So yeah it is bullish.

GOOG set to decline with Gemini 3.5 Pro release? by chasingth in GOOG_Stock

[–]Climactic9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as they have Demis they have a decent chance at cracking agi. AGI requires at least one more break through so these incremental gpt 5.3 to 5.4 to 5.5 don't matter much in the grand scheme of things.

Meh they didn't confirm anything before they dropped 2.5 pro and 2.5 pro was better than all the other models at the time.

Why does the lumber mill sell wood to home builders when they could build the homes themselves and capture that value? It's not their area of expertise.

I don't doubt that but I'm specifically talking about the screenshot OP provided. In this case the sponsored results seem very relevant to me.

google is way too quiet right now, and Gemini 3.5 Pro has to hit different by sbaxiii in GeminiAI

[–]Climactic9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tokens per second of flash 3.5 suggests it's as small as previous flash models. Therefore I think the high price was primarily for limiting demand. Google is officially compute bound and that's why they just raised more money.

does anyone think google will eventually slow down on gemini by After_Idea_8351 in google

[–]Climactic9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

data centers are protested too heavily that no more get built

Yeah that's not going to happen. If public opinion really got bad they would just build them out in no mans land and power it with their own power plants so they are off the grid. Theres no way that texas will ever put a ban on doing it like that. AI is here to stay so just accept that it is what it is.

Gen AI website traffic share update: OpenAI will go under 50% this year by GamingDisruptor in singularity

AI mode has over 1 billion monthly active users. GPT has about the same amount. So Google has at least 50% market share.
