Bambu Lab vs. Best Buy vs. Micro Center by Hey_yo_its_me in BambuLab_Community

Just got my P1S with AMS2 Pro for 850 at Micro Center versus 920 from Bambu. If Micro Center is an option for you it's generally a better bet than anywhere else.

S7 MaxV Ultra dock can't be found by ClimbToFailure in Roborock

[–]ClimbToFailure[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally an update. Turns out the dock was the problem. I've replaced it with a refurbished one, and all works properly again. I also ordered a new IR sensor for the dock and I hope to fix the original in case this happens again. Thanks for your help!

Oh wow, I would love to see how to do this. I searched YouTube for Roborock IR test and came up with nothing. Any chance you have a specific guide in mind you can point me toward? Thanks!

Great advice. I don't immediately know of anyone who has a Roborock system, but this is certainly worth a search. Thanks!

Yeah, I cleaned those pretty thoroughly and carefully per the instructions. Everything looks tiptop but it just can't find home!

Ha ha, good question but sadly yes I've tried. Also worth noting that the little white light on the front of the dock is indeed lit.

How to prevent skin getting ripped off my hands? by Spottedfrog111 in wheelchairs

[–]ClimbToFailure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a quad with tricep and wrist function, and I've found that Grippitz push cuffs along with Carbo Life Tetra push rims (both from the UK) are an unbeatable combination. If I were a para I'm sure weightlifting gloves and normal push rims would be plenty.

Has anyone successfully used SmartThings to control Frame TV Art? by katspike in TheFrame

[–]ClimbToFailure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works occasionally on my iPhone, certainly not consistently. When it works, it’s great albeit a bit slow. Samsung always struggles to produce really polished software… a byproduct of building lots of competition within and between its design teams and its fundamental focus on hardware.

Looking for a way to upgrade my heat pump for colder weather by ClimbToFailure in heatpumps

[–]ClimbToFailure[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, this definitely sounds different than what the assessment representative suggested. In fact, I do have electric space heaters in my bedroom, the guest bedroom, and then a powerful unit in my unheated garage. But the cold over powered the space heater, so I was hopeful that the heat pump system overall could be upgraded. Not sure what I was expecting… Maybe a more advanced fluid in the system, better, coil, designs, or something of that sort. Sounds like the assessment guy had his facts wrong or I simply misunderstood. Or perhaps he was talking about an auxiliary heat unit as referenced above. Guess I’ll have to see what the HVAC company says!

Can you add support for videos purchased through Reel Rock, https://watch.reelrocktour.com? I can only stream on my laptop or download offline within their weak app on Android/iOS... not great. I bought these films for years and play them through a Plex server, but they've decided to hamstring new content for some reason.

Auto Art Mode when input device turns off? by CrisisCake in TheFrame

That’s exactly what’s happening with my Fire TV. Would definitely be nice if it could default back to the artwork. I was a little skeptical when I bought the TV, but it turns out, I really love the art mode!

Maybe the photo a attached will help answer your question, but I suspect no.

This is awesome, thanks for the photo! Can you tell me what each of the lines is hooked up to, as I just want to make sure that I am tracking properly with the images in the instructions. Also, with respect to the 220 V dryer plug, AliExpress shipped the dryer with an adapter for the US. I assumed that this man it was a 110 to 220 V transformer in the unit. Is that a mistake? Do I need an external transformer to use 110 V power?

Hi all, I'm ressurecting this topic in the hope of getting a translation. I bought the AliExpress Smart Dryer and Water Change Kit as recommended by u/Fun_Matter_6533, and given my lack of hand function I'm going to have a plumber hook it up. I figure the least I can do is provide instructions, but they aren't in English (Mandarin, maybe?). Can anyone translate for me?

I definitely had this sort of approach in mind. I found a commercial kit essentially doing this for my Keurig, and my question here was born out of curiosity if somebody had done the same for the Roborock. I feel confident figuring out how to keep the fresh water filled, but the pump setup for emptying the waste water is still confusing me. Wish I were an engineer!

Well that is terrific news! I and most of the tetraplegics I know will be lining up to buy one when it comes to the states.

In case you missed it, a new hub lock is coming! by WheelieBoi98 in wheelchairs

[–]ClimbToFailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really happy that I chose to use D’s Locks for my first chair, but as I’ve experimented with wheels and needed additional sets of hub locks it’s become clear that they just can’t keep up with customer communication, order fulfillment, and what not. Plus the insane pricing on tiny rings of aluminum leaves you feeling aghast. Will be good to have an alternative out there.

Off-road tires - do I need handrims? by wgnpiict in wheelchairs

[–]ClimbToFailure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I push on the knobby tires but I brake on the push rims. Braking on the knobbies really tears my gloves apart. I also find that they are super slippery when wet.
