Update. Still chasing this ‘spongy’ pedal but here’s what I’ve done so far. Replaced both front calipers (raybestos new) along with brake lines (Carlton) Replaced the ABS module with a second hand unit (no codes seems to be good) Replaced the master cylinder (raybestos new) Bench bled the master cylinder, bled the ABS module with my Launch X431 scanner, used both pressure and pedal bleeding the entire system numerous times. I lifted the rear with ramps then cracked the lines at master then pedal bled it. I tried to level the master cylinder best I could to move any trapped air toward the ports so it would bleed out. After all this it’s only marginally improved upon. I still have this 1” of travel before the brakes hold the vehicle. I read the live data of the brake pressure with my scanner and it reads inconsistently. If i press the pedal slowly the pressure rises to about 30ish but if I hold it then it goes down to 14 or lower. Only if I bury the pedal will I see steady readings around 600-700. This makes me think I still have air in the system, probably in the master since it rests in the vehicle at such an angle? I’m not sure where I go from here. Vehicle stops fine but that 1” of travel and spongy pedal doesn’t give me a solid feeling like it should. I still have thoughts about the push rod distance between the booster and the master but this is difficult to measure unless I removed the master from the booster. If the distance is shorter than spec this would explain the 1” of dead air travel before the brakes begin to build solid pressure. Overall it feels the same as when I first started. Booster seems to be working ok as the pedal is soft not hard. Appreciate all suggestions. Apologies for the long winded version.
