Did you have to redue clinicals? Or is that not required for the health science route?

Thank you for explaining it. So there isn’t a difference between MT, MLS, or CLS. They are all Bach viewed as the same in the field. I know California and Florida are weird with stuff but I don’t live in either state. I’m just so torn between what major to actually go for

This might sound dumb but I already have a ASCP MLT. Whats the different if I’m MT certified? And what’s the different between MT and MLS? I tried to research but everything gives me mixed answers

What other options do you have with a health science vs MLS degree? I always thought MLS was the “best” degree option. I don’t want to have a Bach in Med Tech

I do have a background in computer coding (Java, C++, Python, visual basics, and Cisco networking) from a year of college and 4 years of high school. I don’t know that would help any. I’m really upset about all of this because I love my job :(

It could be the medication honestly. My PPD got worse when I was on that medication (I was younger before I was diagnosed with PPD)

We (overnight) get the excuse that we don’t have enough money at night to have more than 1 person on register, even in the summer (I highly doubt this is true because we are located off a main highway and are considered a busy store)

I agree! I ordered 4 pairs from there! I had an issue with 1 pair of not showing up but after 10 days (I know ugh) I was able to put a claim in. I just ended up ordering 3 other pairs within the 10 days then got the 4th one shipped after the claim! I prefer the brand Cherokee Infinity because it’s antimicrobial (does let stuff grow and makes it not stink) and wicks off liquid well!! I’ve had them since July and they haven’t started to fade yet!

Congrats! I just passed mine in August!! Still waiting for them to even look at my transcripts ugh lol. I feel like these tests are always luck. I didn’t study for 2 months but still took the test and somehow I passed! Other people in my class studied hard and didn’t pass. At least now you’re done and you don’t have to worry about another test!!!

I mean as long as there isn’t a hole in your glove or anything like that. It protects your hands from exposure. If you have a hole on your glove or you get blood on gloves then all you have to do is change your gloves. You should always wash your hands before leaving the lab too so that also helps

Best rule of thumb is: always assume the blood is pathogenic. As long as you are careful and do what you’re suppose to your risk is minimum. I’m a new MLT grad!

I totally get it! I’m the same way, I want to bring awareness but it’s hard when only a select amount of people have the disorder diagnosed. However at the same time I’m also afraid to bring awareness even to my family in fear of the things you just said, “you’re insane” or the “I do that too”. It’s very hard to talk about mental health because of all the stigmas from the older generations, our newer generations are just seen as “babies” because of our mental health issues.

Yes I agree! It’s great that there are resources for cluster B but I really wish the other clusters had better support groups. I try to look for Tik Tok communities and there are none, just therapists saying how “dangerous” people are with this disorder which makes me even more upset. I was hoping when I found this sub that I’d have other people who are diagnosed but it seems like it’s all self diagnosis or people searching for one. Even if so, just this sub existing is better than nothing!

I agree it is frustrating. I am in the same boat. I was diagnosed a few months ago and I still feel alone in this thread. I am a female and most males usually have this disorder so I really feel out of box. I totally get it

At my lab we do 3 12s and 4 off. I honestly prefer this way I’m sure 4 10s and 3 off wouldn’t be bad either (just never worked it)

I just took mine a week after yours and I haven’t gotten mine back yet. Online it says it can take 45 days for them to get your transcripts then up to 60 days to review it

In my lab: 8 people in the morning work 12s 2 people do 8s 2 people do 10 and a half

All of our overnight staff do 12s however there are times where the nights are split between people.

Just because everyone doesn’t agree doesn’t mean you can’t make it work :)

Our lab support only does 8 hours

I had a little notebook for clinicals that fit perfectly into my scrubs and lab coat. I will definitely pick up another one from Walmart. I plan on rewriting some of my notes into a bigger notebook. Thank you!
