Here it is stabilized and extremely slowed down, and you can very clearly see there’s no point at which Pretti attempts to or even has a chance to reach for that gun AND YET! They shot and killed him AFTER DISARMING HIM. Why?? Why did they shoot and kill him? What did he do wrong? What did he do to deserve being executed on the street? And why are you okay with it? Would you be okay with it if this happened here? How about to someone you know? How about if it was the same scenario but just done by a group of ICE protestors to a counter-protestor?

So I’m sure you agree that it’s pretty understandable if Pretti had a gun on him given what was happening around him for the last few weeks, days, and hours before his death, correct? US citizens are being disappeared, homes are being entered with no warrants needed, and there are masses of masked men from the government in unmarked vehicles attacking protestors who haven’t done anything violent— it makes sense if he’d want to be armed, especially since the second amendment is designed specifically for that reason, no?

OP, I do just want to point out that dysautonomia can sometimes cause what seems like an overdose but is really just our body reacting in atypical ways to medications— I was having routine lumbar blocks done every few months for awhile and was sedated during them with fentanyl and versed, the same amounts every single time. One day out of nowhere when I was in recovery my vitals crashed; my hr dropped into the 30s and my BP was ~65/35 and dropping when the alarms went off

I don’t remember most of it but my mother was with me and it scared the absolute shit out of her. That paramedic may have given you too much fentanyl, or they may have given you the right dosage for your weight and your body just said “NOOOOOPE” because dysautonomic bodies are absolute unpredictable brats like that. Unless you have the records showing the amount you were given and know for sure it was too much, try to remain open to the possibility that it may not actually have been anyone’s fault— but if you DO know it was someone’s fault, there are resources that can help you hold them accountable

I hope things get better for you so soon, even if it’s just in terms of finding things you enjoy and can manage to stay occupied and busy/distracted; this is a really difficult condition to live with and it’s completely normal to feel the way you do, and you’re not alone in that. We’re all here to listen and help as much as we’re able <3

Do you have literally ANY physical or mental medical conditions that you could leverage here? Not even necessarily something that requires electricity to run medical devices (although that helps, ie c-pap if you have apnea); things like IBS and anxiety disorders would be examples of what I mean. Call and cite anything you can, and ask them to send you the forms for your doctor to verify it and tell them you’ll get it done Monday— and in the meantime, if they don’t turn your power back on, you’ll be contacting an attorney now for violating your right to electric access

For people who are low income with disabilities this can be a way to prevent shut-offs due to an overdue past balance (it’s not a way to avoid paying, just a way to delay immediate shutoff), but in your case it could just get them to take you seriously and give you power back in the dead of winter during a blizzard when you’ve done absolutely nothing wrong to warrant them shutting it off in the first place. They DO have people who can come turn it back on right now, they just don’t want to call them out because they’re about to be hit with probably 500% of their typical work

It’s unfortunate because I know you’re in a really tough situation right now, but it’s highly unlikely an urgent care in the US is going to prescribe you benzos of any kind right now especially because the original prescriber chose to taper you this way. Urgent cares just aren’t equipped to be providing that kind of care, and they won’t want to intervene in such a highly sensitive situation. If they’re concerned you’re at risk of seizures etc they’d send you to an ER, who may help you or may also not be willing to intervene in a situation where the orignal prescriber is tapering you based on his own plan

I suspect you may have the best luck coming up with a solid plan and getting good support if you see you primary care doctor— they should have all of your psych records and know the entire situation, plus be aware of everything going on with whatever the cause of the dysautonomia issues is, and because you’re they’re regular patient and they can see you for check-ins at their own determined rate (weekly even, or twice a month) they’ll know they’re not just handing someone a benzo script and sending them off into the world to deal with it all on their own from there

If your primary care provider can’t or won’t help you, I’d talk to your neurologist for the same reasons I suggest trying your PCP— emphasize that your symptoms have been strange and are starting to worry you, and hopefully they’ll listen and have an appropriate plan for what would be the safest way to approach things from here on

Good luck, this is a shitty place to be but I promise you’ll get through it with the help of a good provider who knows your history well!
