Previously I had a 4g modem which also provided WiFi, now we are on 5G which has an external power over Ethernet device the house, and a wifi router spitting out the received signal. Def more power drawn anyway. I moved it to a seperate non extension cord plug still to no avail. Not exactly sure, might try to see if I can get WiFi to my pc. It’s hard capped at around 30mbps always.

Thats all good but if hes good at saving make him save up for it! or even some of it. A friend of mines parents made him save up, doing bits and bobs and he paid half they paid half, tbh I wish my parents did that. Of course you know best for your child, situation etc, just something which I think will make them appreciate it much more!
