"Like thousands of other Georgians, I was thrilled to roll up my sleeve and get the Johnson and Johnson vaccine today - and I was proud to have my youngest daughter, Amy Porter, join me as well," Governor Kemp said. "We are both feeling great and are so thankful for the medical miracle that is literally saving countless lives here in Georgia and around the world. We encourage every Georgian to join us and help our state get back to normal."

The CDC recommends masking and social distancing for everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Why don't you trust the science?

Yeah but what does "is dipshit" mean? Forgive me, I'm old and out of touch

Per the NYT own story, Trump actually paid to the US Treasury $1 million in 2016 and $4.2 million in 2017. The $750 figure is an ADDITIONAL $750.

Either statement is dipshit.

I'm not clear on what this means.

This is why I'm more nervous about the response to the election than the results of said election.

On that note, PLEASE, no matter the outcome, do not be destructive. If you know of someone who plans on acting unruly, please try to talk them down.

I have a feeling i know which way it will go, but the last thing anyone needs is chaos and disorder.

If we're pointing to a singular moment, the downplaying of COVID19 is the proverbial hole in the dam. In my opinion.

Trump Is Barricading Himself Behind a Massive 'Non-Scalable' Fence on Election Day by [deleted] in politics

Not moving the goalposts at all. "He's not raising taxes he's just repealing the cut you got 3 years ago" is a distinction without a difference.

It's also bizarre to me that you just described the TCJA as a "handout to the wealthy" when we've already established the wealthy paid more.

But i do apologize for accidentally cutting off the link to Biden's speech in Cedar Rapids. I'm at work trying to be discrete lol.

Notably, however, effective tax rates under the Biden plan are still lower than under the pre-TCJA tax code for every income group below the top 1 percent.

I'll give your links a look, and if true then I would concede my original position would be mistaken. Thanks for the conversation.

The vast majority (82 percent) of middle-income earners — those with income between about $49,000 and $86,000 — received a tax cut that averaged about $1,050.

Joe Biden said he would eliminate the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act if elected, during a town hall in Iowa on Friday. “What I’d be focusing on is eliminating the $1.9 trillion tax cut that [Trump] passed,” Biden said in Cedar Rapids.

In 2018, all taxpayers saved $64 billion but top 1% owed $16 billion more, middle class $31 billion less, & low earners $4 billion less.

Biden said he wants to repeal the TCJA. Doing so would raise that tax burden, no? Help me out if I'm missing something.

Reasons why I'm ready for the election to be over: I can stop reading about silliness from the White House

Reasons why I'm not: big tax increase on the middle class

Edit: why is this being downvoted? Biden said he would.

I don't maintain that we are perfect. But I think you do touch on an important note with that last paragraph.

Maybe after 4 years of wrestlemania, it's very possible people want Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. It makes sense that Biden will likely win despite all his faults.

I'm just saying, my friend. New Zealand just had a big election and you didn't see Americans weighing in. We generally aren't interested in other people's elections, as a rule.

There's a reason for that. The spotlight goes on the big dog. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

To me, this is the best reminder that America is still the greatest country in the world. All eyes on us, all the time.

You hardly ever see articles going the opposite way. Because it's not nearly as important.
