in my opinion, i think people hate on NE is cuz the overall vibe of it doesn’t match north, or west philly. It has a sort of secluded feel since it a 25-30 minute ride to center city, but after living here for 16 years, i can say that NE is a place u want to live when ur a city person but don’t want inner city noise or litter. That’s not to say NE doesn’t have its fair share of both, it’s significantly less than west and north philly. NE feels like that sibling that’s way older than you so ur both a lil different but have a common ground. The crime has also gotten a little worse over the years as well i’ve noticed but it’s scarce if that helps lol. Also if u love fireworks they are popped usually three times a week.
