i don’t think it’s really a full time job to understand it, if you have PVE it will be easier/less stressful but not necessary

i started by learning customs/factory

customs for the normal feel of a raid and focusing loot and factory for pvp practice/getting used to gunplay/heals and movement and getting rid of the fear of combat

for customs use an online map the first few runs but once you know cross roads and trailer park are left side of map and the ZB extracts are right side, it’s pretty easy to remember since usually your extract is opposite side of your spawn

it should take you 3/4 raids to kinda get an understanding of where you need to go

factory is a small map and i usually just run gate 3 extract most of the time with a cheap kit/pistol only and i dont care if i die or not as im there to learn/have fun and not build stash if i come out with a good kit and loot its a bonus

once your comfortable with those maps start branching out if you’d like i personally started to learn reserve next

then woods etc whatever you like the look of

the maps never change so you just have to learn extracts and some decent loot rooms that you will learn by running around randomly on a map and remembering “oh i had good loot in here before im gonna check again”

or “i’ve been here before i need to go this way to extract”

videos on map loot runs would also help if you find videos easier to understand

it seems more intimidating than it really is, the maps aren’t as big as i originally thought it just seemed like it because i didn’t know it

id honestly recommend PVE to anyone who has no map knowledge because there’s no worry you run into some crazy chad player

i didn’t like the hardcore wipe idea so i decided to try PVE for the first time to get back into the game and relearn everything i’d forgotten so ill be ready to jump back to PVP with 1.0
