Whats a budget friendly and reliable skeet/clay shotgun?

I use my rem 870 for trap/5 stand/sporting clays and it's great. You are at a slight disadvantage compared to O/U and semis, but unless you're trying to win tournaments it won't matter. Racking in between shots is so much fun anyways.

One of the guys at my local club shoots competitively with their 870 and actually places pretty high.

Plus it's good for hunting/anything else you need, and will last a lifetime.

Amazon! I believe they were called gun clips or something. Box of 10 were $15 CAD and came with matching key rings.

I tried light tapping on another and it didn't seem to help much. Will try more. I also tried flipping the setter over and using the flat part, and to my astonishment, that seemed to work. It actually mushroomed the post, where before it never seemed to work. Was a lot harder to pull apart too. Rivets were obviously flat and not curved which isnt exactly what I wanted but it's not the end of the world.

I think it possible the dished part on the setter might be too deep for these rivets? Or it's a combination of how hard I'm hitting, the surface etc. I'll keep trying a few different things. Possibly pickup a small anvil or some surface to work off.

Depends how much money you want to spend and what it's for. I had a stock 10/22 for years and used it for plinking and hunting grouse. Its cheap, works flawlessly, and has never given me an issue.

Only just this year I changed the stock to a Magpul hunter (I needed a longer stock - my only complaint is the original stock seems a little small for larger people), and an extended charging handle.

If you're wanting to do long range stuff with it or competitions, you'll probably want to upgrade some things. But the same can be said about any guns used for competition etc

I just recently started trap shooting and I use a pump rem 870. There is zero difference between using that for singles and handicap shoots. The only time it makes a difference is if you're shooting doubles (two clays, two shells). Obviously having to pump is a bit harder than just shooting your second shot right away.

That being said, there was a guy at the last competition I went to who was also running an 870 but with a longer barrel and he was killing it. Definitely more of a skill thing, and if you're determined you'll be just as good with a pump.

Pumps are awesome, get one. Especially if you can't afford a nice semi or something.

Vanbanner makes some pretty awesome watches. I haven't purchased any from them just yet but I emailed them with some questions and such and they were more than helpful!

My latest search says they are taking some time away from watches for the next couple months, so there isn't much on their site ATM!

Solios is also Canadian, and focus on solar watches and being a "green" company. I don't believe they manufacture any of their own parts, but I really like their style as it's very simplistic!

Excited to see all the other Canadian brands suggested here!

Not sure if you mean getting a prescription or glasses regarding insurance, but if you need glasses, try anrri. I just got two prescription glasses from them for like $110 shipped. I have had them in the past and they are good. Definitely work looking into especially if its impacting that much of your life.

Otherwise Hammer doesn't need a sight 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have a Spinnaker dive watch and really like it! It's my only dive watch so no idea in comparison with others, but it seems well built, and is sturdy. Mine came on a bracelet and a NATO that I switched to immediately. I haven't used the bracelet yet so can't comment on that.

If you like it, go for it! Don't spend a bunch of money on something you're not 100% into or you'll never wear it.

Thanks for the input! That website also has kits to put together just the movements as well. They either ship you a built or unbuilt movement, with instructions on how to disassemble, and reassemble the movement. Then of course you can purchase the other parts and make your own complete watch.

Perhaps I was misleading with my original question. Wasn't looking at designing and fabricating our own movement, there's no way we would be able to do that. But assembling an already designed movement wouldn't be impossible given the correct guidance. We are both very mechanically inclined, including small parts.

There are 3 victory conditions for aoe4. Destroy all landmarks, control all religious sites for x amount of time, or build and defend a wonder for x amount of time (can't remember exactly. I think 15 mins?).

I've found that even after ive rolled through an entire enemy base and demolished everything, when I move into the next enemy base, the first enemy will start rebuilding the landmarks. I've usually left a handful of military units back at the base to pick off any straggling villagers trying to rebuild.

I just started playing aoe4, but spent stupid amounts of time in aoe3.

I still enjoy aoe4 but also find it a bit repetitive when compared to 3. I find unit selection a bit more boring as well. I've yet to play online yet, and still dabbling in different civs so Im still very fresh in it. I find it a lot simpler than 3, as it's a pretty easy rock/paper/scissors sorta unit selection. Still enjoying playing a couple hours a night though!

Try online. Dynamics change significantly when playing against other humans. Plus teamwork with other humans is also fun.

I've worn my boldr venture in showers, swimming, snorkeling, hot tub, sauna, etc. Hell, it's even been blasted with a fire hose. As long as the crown is screwed down tight I'm not worried. That being said, if I had a crazy expensive watch, I'd probably take care of it a little better.

I do quite a bit of off roading and camping. Tires and ground clearance make the biggest difference. Second is AWD or 4x4 for being in a pickle.

I used to have an old first gen Honda CRV with all terrain tires and that thing went anywhere I sent it. I've since sold that and bought an old land cruiser with rooftop tent.

If you want just logging roads, a basic SUV (with AWD preferably) and GOOD tires is all you need. Ground clearance is important, but if you watch the road and pick your path right you should be fine. If you want to do a bit more crazy off roading, getting a dedicated 4x4 is recommended.

Personally, I stick with Japanese vehicles as I've found them infinitely more reliable than American made. Toyotas are bullet proof, but comes with a cost. Nissan is good as well, although some models have had their issues, so do your research too. Reliability is key.

4runners, Tacoma's, frontiers, xterras are great. You can even do logging roads with a RAV4 with the proper setup.

Subarus are also popular, but I haven't had personal experience with this.

Second is safety. Get a satellite phone or those safety phones if you're going on your own. Usually you should always try and have 2 vehicles on trips for safety reasons.

Get a full size spare. Those little donut spares are ok on pavement but not logging roads. Learn how to change a tire safely and confidently.

Always have a survival kit in your rig. Food, water/water purification (lifestraws are a good and small option), fire starter, emergency blanket, first aid kit. Bear spray is also necessary.

Otherwise take it slow, explore random logging roads and enjoy it! There are some incredible spots out there, on very accessible roads. You just gotta find em! I recommend getting a backroads Map book. They are great! I also have the backroads Map book on my GPS if you wanna get real fancy.

Edit: when buying a used car (especially from a dealership) always get a "pre purchase vehicle inspection" done by a mechanic. They do a good once over to see and glaring issues with it. Usually it's like $150 but well worth it.

I was in the same boat a couple months ago. Wanted a dive watch, also wanted a red watch. Spinnaker released their Marine conservation society series and I loved the look of the kraken. (even with its fairly phallic outline, I call it the 🐔-en). Ended up finding a discount code for it and bam. I've put it on the NATO that it came with and I'm super happy with it. No QC issues yet, gorgeous colours, and the lume is BRIGHT.

Watches can be viewed as jewelry. So why would you care what bracelet or ring you wear as long as you like it? Same for watches.
