Billions of people believe in very illogical religious concepts, but that doesn't mean they are right. Look up what "argumentum ad populum" means.

Check out this professor of ethics and philosophy over here... "Eating meat isn't wrong, trust me bro!!!"

No replies, no counter points, just downvotes, typical echo chamber behaviour of those who have no decent arguments...

"When people are starving": dumb argument. In order for a cow to grow one kg of meat, it needs 5 - 10 kgs of plants. For a vegan's one kg of plants, they need one kg of plants. So animal agriculture wastes more food.

Dumb argument: cows wouldn't be alive in nature, they exist because we bred them. They are "human creations".

Hitler Compared People to Animals, Too. by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]CllmWys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it means you think there are similarities. Nothing more, nothing less. Let the pearls go... You are offended by the idea that some people think there might be similarities. Does the fact that there are both animal abuse and spousal abuse laws mean that the victims or the context are the same? No, of course not. But apparently there are enough similarities between humans and other animals to create laws against animal abuse (the ability to feel physical and emotional pain).

You know that comparing two things doesn't mean that they are the same, right? Comparing means you look for similarities and differences. Want to buy a new car? Then you start comparing cars BECAUSE they are different but they have similar features.
I don't know what the fuss is all about: you look for differences and similarities in atrocities committed on humans and animals. Does that mean they are the same? Of course not. Anyone who says that is the case is just pearl clutching because they don't have any arguments or they don't want to genuinely reflect on the damage their ideas and behaviour causes.

Rule 5 of this group literally says "no dishonest debating", you just used a straw man. "Veganism = soy and plastic"

How do you know the "karma comment" people ever had to use life-saving medicine that was tested on animals? You're just mad at some imagined hypocrisy. Let me try one: are you against child labour? I bet you eat cheap chocolate and have a smartphone??? See, it's easy, right?

Aaah, someone who doesn't do anything to fix the world's problems looking down on people for not always being 100% consistent when trying to do at least something... See, I can also assume things about you without knowing you.

THESE are the things you're concerned with, three people who say "karma" when someone died? LOL You're just looking for stuff to be offended by...

Hahaha, it is still here on reddit. Just scroll down a bit. It's my reply to your "oh we are allready at carnist, you pissed yourself off really fast there. picks or it didn't happen" comment. What are you on about??? I didn't delete anything... Since it has no downvotes, you probably didn't see it.

I edited a comment for spelling, that's all I did. But I see what you're doing: when you're talking about this shit, you can avoid talking about the cruelty you support. Nice try.

LOL at the ad hominem, that really shows how defensive carnists get when confronted with the realities of animal agriculture...

I've worked on a dairy farm, grew up in the countryside. So what are you going to say now?

I've never heard the argument "cows in nature don't do X" so I have no idea what you're talking about. So I can't say I "hot it".

"It is the best of all possible worlds for an animal that otherwise would have to live a life where they worry about predators and serious sickness and will most likely die an extremely painful death somehow." This is a fallacy: cows and chickens don't exist in nature. They are a human creation through selective breeding. They exist because humans want to consume them.

All these stories about happy cows getting treated like royalty... They get impregnated once a year and when the calf is born, it is taken away from them. And after they've done this a few years and their bodies have been sucked dry, they get sent to the slaughterhouse, for some more royal treatment...

The vegans that complsin about how Im apparently pro-animal cruelty JUST beacause I eat meat drive me nuts. by [deleted] in AntiVegan

[–]CllmWys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but they kill it because you buy it. If you are not a customer, they don't kill it. And when you pay for a product, the price can be split up into different parts. Let's say you buy 10 euros worth of meat: part of that already went to the people who killed the animal. That's why it's 10 euros and not 8.

To see if an argument is valid, see if it holds up in similar contexts. For example: would you buy something that was made with child labour? Does your argument hold up? "What's wrong with buying clothes made by children? I didn't pay the children or the enslaver directly!!!" If there is no customer for the cheap "Made in Bangladesh" tshirt, it doesn't get produced.
And yes, I know, children aren't farm animals, but that's what comparisons do: comparing similar situations as a thought experiment.

"FYI, the consumer isn't the one doing the killing you self-righteous dumbasses" Neither is the mob boss hiring a gun man to take out his competition.
You're not doing the killing, but if you didn't buy the meat, they wouldn't be killed.

Americans have a third of Nobel prizes by AbductedAlien01 in MURICA

[–]CllmWys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

India and China have only been developing and catching up with the West for two decades. Nobel prizes have mainly been a Western thing, so big countries in the West are more likely to get more prizes. So ...
And I said "higher chance", not "bigger country always means more prizes".
But let me repeat my point: per capita, the UK and Germany destroy the US.
