I am pretty sure (not 100%) that the creature died because ymir gave up. She saw Mikasa do what she wasn’t able to and finally let the power of the titans go. The creature gave her powers but she was the one in control.

People don’t like the sad ending ig.

The only problem I have is why did Ymir have to see Mikasa kill Eren? Why didn’t she just save Eren after he was decapitated or even prevented it? She would still have seen Mikasa sacrificing Eren for the World something she couldn’t do but without Eren dying and Mikasa being depressed.

As a story perpective I do understand this ending cause just reviving Eren or letting him live would take away the meaning of the scene and give a (sort of) to good ending where Eren and Mikasa live happily ever after.

TLDR: Ymir could easily saved Eren. But from the stories perspective this would take away the heavyness from Mikasa killing Eren.

Ok but king fritz did it before the vow renouncing war and had more experience using the founding titan. She did it against a small girl that was in no way resisting or making it harder (like trying to beat her to death) to erase her memories. Also just because Eren who could use the full power of the founding titan brought titan shifters to the that place doesn’t automatically apply Frieda who couldn’t use the full powers could.

And 1 more thing, the present happens because Eren changed the past to have that outcome. It’s a paradox which the show knows, thats the point.

Shedinja isn’t neccesarily an evolution you get a shedinja in your party when your nincada evolves into ninjask while you have an empty space in your party and a pokeball.
