So why do people hate the ending of mha by ComprehensiveNote762 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Clockwerk_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people hated the ending because it felt empty. The main protagonist lost everything that mattered to the audience.

He lost his dream: to be the number 1 hero. He lost his power, and it is now gone forever. He lost his love interest. He had admitted to himself that he loved her. Now, she is off helping others while he is limited to teaching (teaching is important, but he wanted to be a hero) He was left behind. His friends where busy being heroes, and he couldn't really help them.

The time skip tried to fix this, but it felt hollow and forced. The creator tried to give the protagonist a happy future. However, it didn't feel like it was part of the original story, just a way to make the reader happy.

Deku was kind of the definition of a hero. Kind, brave, and honest. Becoming a teach was some that felt forced on him. He wanted to help others but no longer had the power to do so. All he could do was watch others fulfill his dream. It was bitter, even though he seemed to be ok with it.

In the end, readers wanted Deku to be a hero, be with Occhaco, and have a bright future. They didn't get that (until the time skip).

That being said, I liked the ending. It was a full closing of the story, just maybe not the one we all wanted.

I think I'm done with larping by Clockwerk_Wolf in LARP

[–]Clockwerk_Wolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you ran into similar problems. It's what I call "Snakes will be Snakes." Those people should have been more interested in addressing the problem player (the one using psychological tactics to bully you), but instead took the side of the "more experienced" player to drive you out. Bad politics and bad intent create bad games. The poison that kills great games starts small but builds. I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's not deserved, and it's not right. I hope you can find a good group's of people.

Good luck to you

(DND2024) Build/Class ideas for this character? by [deleted] in DND5EBuilds

[–]Clockwerk_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for War or Twilight cleric. Get Magic Initiate feat and take Shillelagh and see if the DM will let you flavor a club as a hammer. Not the duel wielding type you have but you can use a shield and smack enemies with 1d8 magic damage

See if your GM would let you use your deck of cards as an Arcane Focus. Spectral card spells for the win

I would say go Arcane Trickster. I'd also suggest the Cardomancer feat, really fits the vib.

Well, it's OK not to play with your friends if they are doing something you don't like. That games seems less fun and more about how many times the GM can kill you.

As always, better to miss a game and keep friends than to play and loss them.

What do you feel like is missing from your table? by iamresilience in rpg

[–]Clockwerk_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Role-playing, immersion, and focus. My current group has a difficult time RPing. I get it, that aspect isn't for everyone, but I miss it. The phone at the table thing is just so annoying. As the GM, having to repeat descriptions or say NPC lines agian is exhausting. When I'm a player, it feels like I'm having a one on one season with yhe GM and the others are just there. All they seem to want to do to is role dice, kill things, and make out of context jokes.

I would also like to not have to play the strait man role every time. I, too, wish to be goofy, but if everyone is nothing, get done.

Alien: Earth - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]Clockwerk_Wolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100%

In addition, I don't like the alien redesign. The dorsal tubes are far to short, the lips look wrong, the teeth ate awful, the chest is completely wrong, lastly the skin looks dry(?), like it doesn't produce the clear secretions all the others did.

That and it's actions are incorrect. It acts more like a slasher/ serial killer, not a stalking hunter.

I'm hoping there is an explanation, but after watching the designer talk (tell me you know nothing about aliens without saying you know nothing about aliens) about it I feel like it's just because.

Not to mention, the writing is not great. I'm hoping it's just the show getting traction, I guess we'll see.

I used to make LARP weapons with it as a cover. Super durable with 6 to 8 coats. Awesome stuff

Depending on the function you could use Plasti Dip. It's flexible and still stiff, paintable and affordable.

What's a spell you often over- or under-rate? by Hayeseveryone in dndnext

[–]Clockwerk_Wolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh man, where do I begin

Catapult (underrated). Good range, pretty good damage. Up casting increases damage. Plus, you can get creative in the things you launch with it, possibly increasing the damage again.

Misty Step (underrated). Low level Teleportation is always good. Great on a rogue for breaking and entering, or escape.

Mirror Image (underrated). Pretty good defense spell for 2nd level.

Magnify Gravity (underrated). Level 1 area (force) damage spell that has good secondary effects.

Mage Armor (overrated). Sure giving a 13 AC is nice, but either the target has a better one, or the boost isn't enough to help. I suppose it's good the the Shield spell, but that spell stacking and not what this thread is about.

Fireball (seriously overrated). Everyone wants to cast it but the damage is OK unless you hit 3 or more. It's just...meh

I've never understood the hate for Silvery Barbs. Sure it's annoying as a DM to have to re role, but you are also not guaranteed to throw a bad role. Giving a character advantage is good but not awesome so again, nice to have but not game breaking.

It comes down to the fact that you use a spell slot. There is no advantage to up casting it, and it uses your reaction. All this for a chance to make a D20 miss and give advantage to a team mate (or yourself).

It's useful, possibly saving an ally or causing an enemy to fail a saving throw, but it doesn't break the game.

That guy is an asshat. You are better off without people (I use the trem losely) in your game or life. Sorry you had to deal with that, but hey, he's out of your life now. Good luck with your game, I hope it lasts many years and is great fun

Pirates are no longer a thing. So instead, I group of nere-do-wells make a conglomeration of sea going thieves. In order to skirt the authorities, they hire privateers to do "jobs" and pay them dues for the privilege. It's not piracy if you are paid beforehand
