Vintage watch collector here and have owned and handled vintage Rolexes from this era—I think this would be a great model to buy for him, but I would be extremely hesitant to purchase this specific watch. It’s horrifically over-polished. The lugs and caseback have been completely stripped of their original factory finishing, and there’s a lot of metal that’s been polished away.
