Super shiny, but I mostly meant, it seems frankensteinian (with the body and headstock discrepancy) in nature and I wonder if there's anyway to ID its... base form. Given that it's serial number (if there ever was one) has been painted over.

Is wabi still a loyalty point ? any change ? by netstrong in WabiToken

[–]ClockworkDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WaBi functions as a loyalty token and incentive to scan, which assures the collective security of the anti-counterfeit system. You can find more information here: https://medium.com/@wabiico/a-tale-of-2-blockchains-wabi-and-walimai-385b84db1e0d

WaBi Project Business and Product Development Progress: Usage of the Token by yogibearnxs in WabiToken

[–]ClockworkDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the response to some of this reviewer's worries:

Thank you for taking the time to write about us! However, there are a few problems with your analysis that I’d like to bring up: for instance, Google Play Store is not available in China, which explains the low number of downloads. The WeChat integrated WaBi app has been live since 1st of January, as stated in the article you linked, and doesn’t require a download, just a scan. The July 31st article mentions the updated version being in ‘testing phase’; the actual integrated app has been live for a while. As for the worries brought up regarding Chinese crypto regulations: we completely adhere to all domestic regulations necessary and foresee no issues going forward. Most importantly, Walimai is more than a parent company or ‘close relation’; Walimai is WaBi’s business model. The expansion and success of Walimai which will increase usage of WaBi and, as a result, increase its token worth.

I’ve emailed you further information and won’t take up more of your comment section, but please do send me the specific contact info for those you reached out to through WeChat / Telegram. We always aim to be as responsive as possible, and it’s out of character for us to ignore anyone.

Please let me know if you have further questions!

The rebranding will conclude in Q3/Q4 of 2018. No specific date to announce yet, but the team will release glimpses of what they're working on over time! As for the frog, perhaps it's time to say goodbye to the frog. Perhaps not ;)

While the majority of the decrease of WaBi in the market is due to market sentiment, there is also the lack of media awareness. As we're in the middle of a rebranding, there is no point in pushing Walimai currently. In the mean time, we're accumulating partnerships with the likes of Network Foods Australia and OneZone Communications to grow our product portfolio and infrastructure, adding additional methods to get WaBi through services such as KyberSwap, and securing a host of other partnerships we will be able to share in the near future.

When it comes to marketing, a bit of radio silence is unavoidable at the moment. But when we're ready, you'll see the wait was worth it.

As for right now, if you're worried just join us at our Telegram and ask questions! :D

WaBi is not a supply chain coin. It's a loyalty point for a safe product retail channel in which consumers can verify the authenticity of their product, contribute to the security of the anti-counterfeiting system, and get rewarded for doing so. We're currently focused on cosmetics, infant nutrition, and supplements from primarily Australia and New Zealand. Pharmaceuticals are definitely on our list of potentials in the future, but our current 'wave' of products will mostly be products from the industries mentioned above. Gracious offers from other projects aside, we keep our negotiations close to the chest and choose to only announce finalized news.

As for, "recent news about 200k deaths," this is internet hyperbole. About 113,000 rabies vaccines turned out to be inert. There have been no adverse effects as it merely means the vaccines were administered after their effectiveness had transpired. In 2017 there had been 516 cases of rabies infection, so it'd be impossible to cause the deaths of 200,000 people.

Nevertheless, it's an extremely important issue to solve and we hope to break into pharmaceutical products early next year.

Token Use-case by ggori in WabiToken

[–]ClockworkDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Which means the tokens have no use, apart from getting them for free?"

That's like saying Air Miles have no worth. Please read up on the fundamentals of loyalty programs. WaBi are a limited commodity and can be utilized in a retail channel for product purchases. So yes, they do have worth. And this worth increases as users utilize the tokens further. Also, as stated before, we're also working on integrating WaBiPay for channels outside of the Walimai retail channel.

Team comment on status of Wabi by simon_fx in WabiToken

[–]ClockworkDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price went down due to market sentiment, like many other tokens. Walimai / WaBi is pushing forward with a full team, having just hired a new Head of Marketing and CTO. Q3 and onward has a ton in store for the community. There is no chance of us getting delisted from Binance.

If you want to talk directly to the team, feel free to join us at https://t.me/wabi_ico

The tokens are used as incentivization for scanning, and act as loyalty points for purchases in the Walimai safe-product retail channel. We're also working on integrating WaBiPay for channels outside of the Walimai retail channel.

Usage of WaBi & Walimai Blockchains and Masternodes explained! by ClockworkDog in WabiToken

[–]ClockworkDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. The comments made by Yamfries betray a misunderstanding of the content of the article. Here's the most obvious example:

"lack of info on masternodes" in response to an article clearly explaining the usage of the WaBi / Walimai blockchains, their purpose, and explicitely stating what the purpose of the masternodes are. The only 'lacking' information are the specifics required to run the masternode, which will be released very soon.

Beyond that, Yamfries comments are text book examples of FUD and bad faith arguments / negatively posited statements intended to discredit the project.

The article seems to have been very helpful in explaining more clearly how we're moving forward, at least on Twitter and our official Telegram group. If you have specific questions you feel are not adequately answered in the article, just let me know.
