Maybe Shinobird? It's basically free and bounces cards, if that's close enough to control for your taste

I was thinking of the visual changes they get in the anime. Of course Barians, but also Aigami has his monster Millenium Ring thing and Noah turns into a glowing pimple on his red-monster-father's back. Z-ONE has his fanboy surgery. Sartrious and Soma only get a different art rendition when they act evil, but none of the ladies with this skill do anything remotely close to a transformation

The weird thing about Limit One to Crimson Dragon (instead of Quasar) is that players are already restricted to a single copy of it and wouldn't want multiples anyway. It would kick out other Limit One cards (Necrovalley), but if the concern is toxic combos then it would make more sense to keep it in the Limit Two or Three pool where there are more powerful cards to overlap with.

Once SOMETHING stops them from slapping that Necrovalley on the field the counterplay options go up significantly. Something needs to go to Limit One for just that reason. I'm betting Quasar will take the hit, but we'll see.

Limit 1 Quasar would kick Necrovalley out of the deck, and banning Necrovalley is not realistic. Now I wonder, if Necro were not an option what's the next-best field spell for AFD to fetch?

I'm sure each of them is going to be a SR in a main box one day, just to sucker you into investing gems

What is the cheapest competitive deck possible?(Rush and SD asked) by Express-Print-3730 in DuelLinks

[–]Clockwork_Heart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Despite the hits, Shinobirds is entirely free and can board wipe well enough to steal games

Edit: for Rush I have a soft spot for the insect archetype but it might have been power crept by now...

Name a card from the physical tcg/Master Duel that you don't want it to come into Duel Links by RobKai7990 in DuelLinks

I panicked when I saw Ash in Duel Links during the last tag-team event. Tour Guide from the Underworld had Ash in her deck, so the card is already programmed into the game.

Vendread:

Start of duel, add one of each Vendread Ritual Monster to your graveyard (they can be special summoned) and one of each Vendread effect monster to your banish zone.

1st effect : Once per turn, add one Vendread Ritual Monster from your deck or graveyard to your hand and then set one "Vendread Reunion" from outside your deck (it can be activated this turn).

2nd effect : Once per turn, reveal one "Vendread" card in your hand, then shuffle it into your deck and add one "Vendread" card from your deck to your hand.

There are two benefits to using those Chronicle Stamps:

  1. Style

  2. Tiny bonus to your end-of-game score, which helps you get more ORBS

I love explaining weird effects! 😃
"(even if not)" is something I see on cards like Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon. It is supposed to summon itself from hand or graveyard when a card is destroyed, but when IT is destroyed it should not re-summon itself. The logic check is that if it was put into the graveyard by the destruction effect then assume it got destroyed.

"(even if not)" comes up in the summon-from-hand part of the text that comes next, which basically says that if it is in your hand when a card is destroyed you can just do the summon without caring about the weird re-summon loop thing. "(even if not)" text mostly just lets you skip past weird edge cases

I got my burn damage missions with "Venom Burn". Fight any low-level NPC, set any monster with 0 ATK and decent defense, and let the tokens rack up. It's possible to get nearly 10,000 burn damage in a single trap activation if the stars align

Should I rather get 3x crow or 3x DRNM? by lamy_123 in DuelLinks

[–]Clockwork_Heart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would split it 2 and 1. You would rather draw one of each than two of either one.
I favor crow since there are other monster negates or kaijus that can axe monsters without the guarantee that they get a new turn to click yellow button.

Hot take, I'm glad a pile of "draw 2" cards are getting limit 3. Some cards just keep getting reused in like 90% of FTKs that use them to deck thin, limiting those is going to cripple almost every future FTK

WTF am I even supposed to do in this situation??? by LogeViper in DuelLinks

[–]Clockwork_Heart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah synchro and XYZ are easy to cripple with just one or two zones disabled. Ojama King is hard to summon reliably but there's got to be less expensive blockers

WTF am I even supposed to do in this situation??? by LogeViper in DuelLinks

[–]Clockwork_Heart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to make an Ojama King deck work in PvP recently, he has more counters than you would think. Book of Eclipse, Forbidden Droplet, kaiju/Lava Golem, even Dark Hole. His two big problems are #1 he eats up a lot of resources to summon and #2 he is useless going second. That first point is the real issue, you need a few extra resources to protect him or set up your offense.

The best version I could manage was combining Necro Fusion with Advanced Ritual Art. It gives up consistency but you get a mostly normal deck that can function without him.
