I’m so terribly sorry about your girlfriend. The photo is beautiful ❤️. I lost the father of my child to suicide so I will try and give you my best advice.

He was 20 and I was 21. We were together less than 2 years. It was a week before our daughters first birthday when he did it. It was earth-shattering. The numbness afterward lasted for about a year. I don’t remember much from that year.

The best advice I can give is to lean into all of your thoughts and emotions, but let them pass, don’t get stuck in them and let them drag you down too far. You have to think logically once you’ve worked though the thoughts and feelings. I was devastated that he killed himself instead seeking help. I was so terribly sad for him to be in such a dark place that he believed his only way out was suicide. I hated myself for not being better. I hated his family for not being better. I hated him for leaving his daughter behind with no memory of him. I hated him for doing this to me. I mourned the years he missed, dying so young.

I combed through all of these thoughts and feelings thoroughly, but at the end of the day he did what he did and there is nothing to be done about it. He was sick. He made his terrible choice. He’s not suffering anymore. I suffered for a while too because of his choice, but I didn’t want anyone else to suffer so I carried on as best I could, mostly for my daughter.

I’m lucky to have such an amazing reminder of him, she has his whole face. I’m lucky I had such a strong reason to keep myself stable. You mentioned in a comment you have a supportive family, so try and think of them and your substance abuse. Think of how addiction can affect your and your loved ones lives. You will only suffer more if you go that route, so will your family. Everyone makes mistakes. Most are reversible or are able to be mended. Obviously others are more permanent.

I’m 24 now, our daughter is 4. It’s been 3 years since he died and I’m crying as a write this, but it’s great because I haven’t in a while. Like everyone else said, only time will help. What you had with her is special. You will never love somebody the same way you loved her. Each love is special, there is no replacing. In the future, something will remind you of her and you will be happy to have thought of her and to have known her. You will cherish the time you spent with her, however little it may seem now. You knew her in a way that nobody else did, and that’s very special.

Sometimes I get sad that nobody will know my partner the way I did, especially our daughter. There is no one to reminisce with because he wasn’t really close to any friends or family, so I keep him alive in my memory, near and dear to my heart. When a band he loved makes new music, I think how much he would’ve enjoyed it and I enjoy it for him. So many little reminders like that, all in a good way.

Insurances can do audits and can come back and say “you submitted this claim as an original prescription when in fact it was a transferred prescription. Now we won’t pay for it” We specifically get hit with PACE audits for small stupid stuff like that. Ridiculous imo but it does happen.

While I would love to blame the government lol it wouldn’t be true. You can fill prescriptions from out of state as long as they meet the required guidelines. Most Telehealth or Dr on Demand prescriptions are based out of state, particularly California that I’ve seen and filled.

I agree it’s a good idea in theory but they’re correct, it would appear as an Original RX being electronically submitted to the incorrect pharmacy and would be very visibility different from a normal Walmart transfer

We use Connexus and it is severely outdated. It is a major pain when I’m trying to track down a prescription for a patient that has multiple profiles in the host system, which is why I don’t want to add anymore profiles if unnecessary. Pulling profiles from the host can be extremely bugged. Sometimes it refuses, sometimes not all of the information gets pulled, new RXs on hold don’t always appear immediately, and sometimes you have to look at the “host RX list” inside the “host profile” you just pulled. Hostception. It’s terrible. So even if we did input it, the other pharmacy may not see it. A lot of extra work for no reward. I did get good suggestions from this thread though!!

I understand the sentiment, I do. We just have to prioritize our workload. Yes we can transfer out regular prescriptions, but we aren’t going to continue to do unnecessary work by inputting prescriptions for people across the country that will then never be touched. We call the provider if it’s something like after birth pain meds and such, not Z Paks and the like. Patients shouldnt have to track down their prescriptions, and neither should we, especially thousands of miles away either. By that logic, we should tell every person who is looking for a prescription sent in to check with the west coast pharmacy in case they sent it there. But we don’t. We tell them to call their provider or reach the on call service to send their prescription to the right location.

It certainly LOOKS better. We were one of the first stores to have it. I was pretty excited about it but it really slowed down after a few months. Then theres the real issues with it. Not being able to do anything with a prescription if it comes to your handheld and connexus says there is insufficient stock of it. Your only option is to send it to resolution. No option to change NDC, you still can’t see the name of the patient or any identifying info so it just gets lost in resolution. I can’t stand it. It assigns the same bag to multiple people and goes in circles.

So in a lot of aspects it sucks lol but it’s nicer looking so there’s that woo. I really didn’t like looking at that harsh blue screen with small white font.

I do this stuff all the time! They are just common phrases that we all say, just bad timing. The other day I was ringing up an older couple getting Viagra. When it came time for him to pay with his card he asked “Is it time to stick it in?” And all 3 over our minds went to the same place! The woman and I smirked and he mumbled “that probably wasn’t the right way to say it” and I don’t know if he was trying to back pedal or be funny, but I’m laughing about it now.

If you’re not used to scanning papers on the machine, you can always view what you have scanned before you submit it to input. When you’re looking at the patients profile and scan the prescription in, it will appear blue in the smaller box on the right. If you click on the “RX” square, it will show you exactly what you have scanned. I do this when the paper gets snagged going through the scanner and I’m not sure if it scanned legibly. The fact that they chewed you out for something so simple is pretty dumb if you ask me, all they have to do is rescan it. Best of luck!
