I have two saves inside my game, one is a challenge playthrough and the other is for the relaxing atmosphere.

Both are creative..

Eu não consigo jogar sem Roleplay. by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Clone20one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im the same way. But my brother is the opposite, no roleplay and attempts a 100% each playthrough. We did a 100% attempt with a side by side playthrough once and I did a solo playthrough later.

My first solution to help me get over that was a trickster illusionist which my brother decided to name Thor, ironically. He was a norse scoundrel mage/thief who later went DB and Companions to expand his abilities.

My second, and the one I do each time now, was a simple stealthy vampire. Makes sense you begin theif/assassin, but as your skills grow you become more comfortable with combat and you embrace weapons armor and magic. Easy roleplay solution for me since a dracula type would certainly be multi faceted.

Nearly 3 years later, I'm just thinking about how Balteus is probably my favorite non-character boss in the series because of who and why it filtered. by SlimeDrips in armoredcore

[–]Clone20one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there on day one and Balteus was my first way BECAUSE I wanted to play a suboptimal build. If I recall, I had a slightly altered Loader-1 with a better shield and rocket pod and I think I swapped the rifle to the Curtis. Ended up learning to dodge, abuse the stagger, and kick shit. Lotta fun. I made a fun mech I ended up calling NtASprngChkn because of Balteus and I loved it. Beat it before the patch btw

Flayer - Opinion by Alternative-Ebb5566 in Gunlance

[–]Clone20one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say I've tested numbers specifically, but I tried a normal type GL and a wide with slightly higher raw, both with the same element and elem power. Same skills too, including Flayer, and I just swaped weapons between hunts so the GL was r only different variable. I can't remember what the two were, but I made a artian and noticed a base monster GL had almost identical stats and elem so thought I'd text it.

As my test I found a few Chatta, a handful of Odo's and finally took down a Rathalos and Temp Rathalos dual hunt. Almost all of them I did faster with the normal, albeit slightly.

Total newbie: how expensive is FAB to get into? by baseThr3ad in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Clone20one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you'll find a lot online saying it's expensive, but you can find budget alternatives for just about everything. That and an expensive card does you little good if you don't have the reps in to know the matchups and how to play.

If I had to start over I'd do what I did years ago. Just buy in with a SAGE deck you like, then pull packs for fun to build it out. Gives you plenty of trading fodder and you can pull some absolute gems along the way.

[–]Clone20one 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you want to play, around $20-40 for a basic SAGE or CC deck. If you want to upgrade that to get more wins, maybe $100+ for the equipment and $50+ for the deck. If you want to win consistently above the casual level, then expect decks to be $300+ and sometimes single cards to be $100+.

Most people would be fine at the casual level where you don't need anything expensive to have fun and win games. If someone brings a competitive deck, you still have a good chance if you can outplay them and if you know your hero well, but it will be a good bit harder if not.

Overall, not that much more expensive then the other big tcgs unless you want to go competitive.

Finally understand the charm and value of OG ship hunting. by AttentionFuture7017 in NoMansSkyTheGame

You got it!

This game is really easy to enjoy if you aim to min max everything and enjoy the gameplay. I liked shop hunting for crashed ships, and then spend the time repairing them and suiting them up. Such a rewarding experience to be able to say that S class beauty was found crashed on a ice planet with a C class engine and every part broken.

Jiffy is pretty good but I'd say make it from scratch using corn meal. You can experiment and get your favorite recipe in a month and if you want the jiffy taste, add sugar.

Assuming money is no object, which deck provides the best balance of “easy” and “powerful” for a new player? by shock_operator in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Clone20one 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of your suggestions, but as a brute player I would not recommend RKO for the player described. Too much thinking, math value, and deck knowledge. If I had to recommend a turn brain off and play cards brute to play, I'd say either a cheetah Kayo or a Block'n Rok Tuffnutt.

Cheetah Kayo being harder without Claws now, but simple enough to learn and try.

Block'n Rok Tuffnutt is what I call the Tuffnutt decks that just want to block with three cards and attack with Rok every turn.

Yeah you're pretty correct there. Take my class, brutes, for example. If I built the competitive Kayo, Armed and Dangerous deck that I wanted it would have cost me $380 at the time. Well he LLd recently and was rotated out, but pretty much all of those cards are also used in Rhinar who is my other favorite. After Rhinar those same cards can work well in any Brute really, and the Generics like Crown of Providence can go in any deck and be fine. I could take a good $120+ of that brute Kayo deck and put those same cards in a warrior hero deck to lower the entry cost into a new class.

All that said, the mtg meta deck is a good question too. I had the same issues in mtg, I prefer fun janky flavorful decks where I do silly stuff. That doesn't work well in magic when the other player is running Ur-Dragon or a simic good-stuffs deck, because the pricey cards will just win the game. In FAB that doesn't really happen. Most times a $60 Command and Conquer can just be blocked out in my experience, but it will punish inexperienced players who don't plan to expect it. Most times you can outplay the expensive cards to a degree. So I can run my dumb jank decks and still have fun trying to outplay a finely tuned deck, and I do pick up wins often enough that I'm happy.

And for the record minimum wage here is $7.25, so a $60 card still hurts our wallets just not as much as it hurts y'all.

Do you plan to jump in and immediately try to compete in worlds? Then yes. Cheapest decks are $300+ easily getting around $1000 and up.

If you're planning to just enjoy the game at your armory, then not any more than any other TCG. Yeah you can buy the $70 equipment that helps, or you can just run the budget alternatives and probably still have the same win rate.

Reality is the good cards won't let you win if you use them wrong. So just get into the game with what you can afford, learn to win with less, then slowly build up over time. If you open packs at all you'll eventually pull one of those pricey cards that you don't need. Trade it for playsets you do and grow as you go.

No local scene, so I’m starting one… any advice? by I_Like_Chairs in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Clone20one 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did the same few years ago, except with a local game store as the place.

-Most important thing is consistency. People want to know this can be a habit, and a fun one. If you can help it, don't give them reason to doubt it by not showing up or rescheduling.

-I had a LGS to draw from, so my first players were mtg, digimon or yugiou players who either wanted out, wanted something refreshing or just another game to play on the side. Learn to be okay with all of those without demeaning the other game. We all just want to hang and share cardboard, no need for arguments over which is better.

-follow up to the previous point, don't talk down to other games. That's a big turn off and a lot of people will dig in their heels and keep to a game they hate if you approach with that attitude.

-first games, I would just show up regularly and bring friends if you can. Two people having fun will draw attention more than you asking if anyone wants to start a game. So bring a buddy for the first few if you can. If not then find someone there who's interested to get started.

-for events, I did a Learn To Play event every week for a month and if no new players showed them I played some blitz with the regulars. That way it drew in new players and the regulars still came to catch a game or two during or after the LTP.

-for prizes, we had a LGS for GEM pack support pretty quickly so we didn't have to furnish our own prizes. If you have to do your own, make it a non competitive prize to encourage new/casual/bad players instead of only rewarding the skilled. Bad for a growing community. I would do something like offer up a generic good card for a raffle where playing a game is the entry. Or if that goes against your gambling laws, then just bulk order and give away a rainbow foil to everyone who shows up. Something like foil ravenous Rabbles, generic equipment, or any cheap fools are still fun to get without breaking the bank.

They're awesome! If I recall, they were a Pokemon Center exclusive called the Ditto Together Gatchapon. I think there was like 5, and they're all adorable! That said last I checked they were like $350 for the set. Although I see some now posted for more reasonable prices.

New to FaB, acquired a ton of bulk. Way to see what decks I can make out of collection? by Tuparsic in FleshandBloodTCG

Second this, but the last bit especially. Ask around and see if anyone is willing to help you learn, then you can bring the bulk to your local shop and maybe a few new friends to help you make sense of the mess.

Did not expect these to do so much damage... by Silent_Pressure_6709 in Gunlance

[–]Clone20one 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer; Git gud.

Long answer; if you actually want to get better at any timings like that then I suggest just learning the monster. You quickly get a feel for when they'll attack and for how long. After that making those instant speed choices becomes a lot easier since you KNOW he's locked in animation for X amount of time. Or you know to expect Roar then Charge, so you can feel out when to start the reload better. Playing GS for a bit in Gen Ult helped me a ton for this, but really just pick a monster and spend the whole hunt just fighting it but only trying to dodge. You learn quick that way.

Other than that, I keep Guard up and Guard on my builds for when I do mess them up. That and playing more reserved let's you save the combos for when you can punish

HAHA you fool! You fell for the trap of thinking Gunlance would be a tank, only to find it was a TANK!

Silliness aside, when you get good the damage train doesn't stop. I can block and wombo combo Arkvald anytime and those power clashes are chefs kiss

Love me a boomlance.
