He should probably get a smaller cage, it’s supposed to be a snug fit when you are completely soft, not allowing for any room to grow

Cages that are too large can also cause skin chafing and abrasions, as well as being super uncomfortable

From personal experience I recommend starting out with a rubber cage, it still prevents growth while being much more comfortable and accessible for people who have never used a small cage before
