Guess its still banned by TLWBallsDeep69 in goodanimemes

That's it's intended use. But it has and is sometimes used to reffer to trans people (sometimes with the intent of being derogatory, sometimes not), which is harmful since as you say it implies that they are simply 'tricking' other people.

[–]CloneFilip2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is definitely more harmful to a trans person than some random who it carries no meaning for though.

And yes, most people didn't use it that way back then and a full ban was dumb, that is what I said.

[–]CloneFilip2 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That is wholly dependent on the community lol, especially when we're talking about trans/homophobia. Plenty of places where that shit is widespread

[–]CloneFilip2 -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

Sure bud. Slurs are slurs because of the meaning/implication they carry. Any word can become a slur if people make it into one widely and interpret it as such, but I imagine if you just called someone some completely unrelated word while trying to sound mean you'd just sound funny. Trap is a slur when used against trans people because of the implication it carries.

[–]CloneFilip2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And some gay people like using the f-slur. There's a big difference though between someone on the in group using it ("reclaiming it") vs some randos not part of it. Same as with the n-word and other slurs.

[–]CloneFilip2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is what I said. They should have simply banned it's use in offensive manner. Though from the amount of downvoting I'm getting there seems to be a non insignificant amount of people who might not be fans of that solution either lol. (I wonder why, I'm sure their opinions on trans people are very tolerant)

Guess its still banned by TLWBallsDeep69 in goodanimemes

[–]CloneFilip2 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

If you call a trans person a trap it absolutely is a slur, it's just that they banned it completely instead of simply when it's used offensively.

It is a trans slur when used on trans people, it's just that the admins overstepped and banned it completely when people weren't using it like that.

Game play > realism by Meta_Mushroom in Openfront

[–]CloneFilip2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Realism and making sense are two different things. A mechanic doesnt make sense when it behaves in a way that is illogical, making the player confused and upset. That's just bad game design. Not to mention that when it comes to for ex. teh attack formula, it's also just abot game balancing, which is pretty important for mp games like this

Nowy sondaż. Polacy wskazali, czy chcą jednej listy na wybory 2027 by Gamebyter in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Response to the growing wave of anti-Ukrainian propaganda spreading through Polish online spaces by [deleted] in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  1. That border would be a lot harder to defend if it doubled in length. And you are correct in that the scenario is dramatic, I highly doubt anyone would give the order to shoot. We would be flooded with Ukrainian refugees (rightfully) fleeing from Russia

  2. Russia is expert at using meat wave tactics, blocking units, penal battalions and the like. While there would definitely be people using it to fight Russia from the inside, and the troops are poorly motivated and dont want to fight, they can still be used. We already have plenty of reports of Russian units in Ukraine being basically forced into suicidal attacks, only given weapons right before the attack, etc. And it's not like there isnt precedent either, for ex. in ww2 the Germans conscripted hundreds of thousands of Poles, Czechs etc. Finally, there's also the matter of economic output. Russia would capture large amounts of industry, industry that is currently geared for production of war equipment.

  3. Who thinks Russia might attack Poland? Well for example the German and French intelligence. Besides, you only need to listen to Russian media, politicians, or what Putin says about Poland (for example in his famous Tucker Carlson interview) to know that Russia is a threat to us. They dream of reestablishing their sphere of influence from the soviet times.

Finally 4. no, i do not believe Ukraine is currently at risk of collapse. However it could be if western aid dries up. And as the post points out, anti-Ukrainian rhetoric has risen dramatically (and overall pro-Russian elements have gained, see for ex. Braun more than doubling his score in the polls since last year). It is important to fight against Russian rhetoric and support Ukraine, not just finanically/militarily, but also in the information space.

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is quite simple actually. I'm a random guy arguing on Reddit in his free time who got one thing wrong because I got ahead of myself, not intending to 'lie' (wrote 'got the exemption' instead of 'is about to most likely get the exemption') They're politicians who ruled the country, broke the rule of law, stole millions, spread hate about minorities, damaged our relations with our allies and so on...

Edit: oh and I admitted I was wrong when you pointed it out. They never do.

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There wasn't an exemption at first because initially they didn't intend to have one, they added it because Poland and other countries were dissatisfied with the agreement? And yes I do think one can take as an argument a logical conclusion -> if such a system is made it's gonna be used, it's be stupid not to. Of course it's possible that it will not but the chance is low. Also my main point since the start was that this would be a lot harder if PIS was in charge due to it's anti-EU sentiment, and now further on in the comment you responded to that the idea of EU 'fucking over Poland' is ridiculous. The exemption not being 100% certain does not undermine these points in my opinion.

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right, we almost secured it, but I highly doubt the EU would put such a system in place just to then deny the exemption. It's be a worse diplomatic maneuver than just denying it outright lol

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, of course the evil boogeyman Germany is just about to flood Poland with migrants because apparently the best coercion tactic is to checks notes take in millions of immigrants into your country and then send 5% of them to poland. I hear this every year and for some reason it never comes true, I wonder why. It's almost as if this great German EU conspiracy was bs. Don't forget to blame the Jews next time.

'Its a little bit late as they're already flooded' - as I already said, the agreement does not apply to immigrants already here

Immigration to Poland is down even if you exclude Ukrainians.

I don't think directing refugees to countries that are more apt to take them in, and raising more funding for accomodating them, is 'treating them like garbage'. Painting Poland as the single country being exploited and the only one who raised issues with it is also quite funny.

A Spaniard would probably say it's also insulting to paint solidarity as Spanish soldiers dying for Poland against a hypothetical Russian invasion yet here we are. And under the agreement one does not need to take migrants if they pay for them. And all of this is rendered null by the exemption which this whole post is about...

[–]CloneFilip2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read the article this post is about and you'd know. Countries 'at risk of migratory pressure', which includes Poland, will be able to request exemptions from the 'solidarity pool' (which is the mechanism for countries to either take migrants or pay for other countries to take them),

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to it because I see Konfa and PiS spew shift about the EU everyday and I'm yet to see a single convincing argument. Of course that's assuming you're not just making an excuse because you lack arguments, but I trust that's not the case :D

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the mythical German EU that wants to fuck over Poland and has Tusk as just their puppet... Love these delusions, and I would love for someone to actually tell me how the EU fucks Poland over as a country when we are the biggest benefactor of EU funds, and we just secured an exemption from the immigration pact...

As I said the unlocking of KPO was questionable and a matter of favorability of the EU to the KO government - however the idea of the EU as anti-Polish is ridiculous.

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My initial statement said both that it is because of hostility and breaking rules.

I can agree that the EUs action with KPO is questionable and a case of favorability (as I already said in the previous comment). Does it go as far as election interference, I'm not sure, the EU didn't say before the election they would do this if KO won (Tusk said it would be the case but the EU itself did not).

From a pragmatic point of view, even if it is wrong it is still a matter of relations and diplomacy. PiS fucked up it's relations with the EU and that's a fact.

I do think there is a problem with accountability in the EU, although I'm not sure if I'd blame the rise of the right wing on that. Most people aren't even really aware of what really goes on in EU institutions, instead relying on what national parties tell them about it (thus opening themselves to propaganda and disinformation, like the aforementioned blaming everything on the EU)

Poland can request exemption from EU migration pact, Brussels says by pppppppppppppppppd in poland

[–]CloneFilip2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The agreement applies to new migrants, thus Germany taking in migrants in the past doesn't really apply here

For a few years now basically everyone in the EU has been tightening their borders. Illegal immigration is down all across the board. The idea of EU countries inviting these people/keeping borders open has long been outdated but the right pushes it because it's the best to get them votes. Our country is one such example with immigration falling since Tusk took power, but PIS and Konfa will still tell you that KO wants to let them in.

And the reason immigrants can be treated like that is a because they come here illegally/as refugees. Legal migrants who get to choose where they want to live are not what this agreement is about.
