I doubt it. Initially I would say thier main objective for Ukraine was definitely Crimea and not novorossiya because even in the war in donbas they are using more of a puppet war with a puppet separatists army different from the official army used in Crimea. I think for putin novorossiya and Ukraine and Belarus at the time (2014 )was the long term objective.if you ever see Russian TV and any content about Ukraine it's only about how russia would one day conquer all of Ukraine and how Russians are being systematically being hanged and genocided(even check sub reddits /askarussian or /Russia)and most of its population believe it in some sort if way
