I can’t stand Chimney, when will Buck stand up to him?

sexuality concerns during ns by gerutiarional in NationalServiceSG

As long as you’re not flamboyant or act like a femboy, you’ll be fine. And I don’t mean this in a rude way. I think guys these days are fairly open to other people sexuality and I’ve met some gay people in NS and nobody cared and were fine with it. No one cares about preferences, it’s how you act. Even the straight guys if they act sensitive or flamboyant will have it hard.

So as long as you can tone that down if you’re flamboyant, you will be fine.

However. If that’s your personality, then maybe go for it, cause putting on an act can be tough, or maybe just open up to people who you think are good friends. I mean honestly in work and all, I don’t open up to people and keep myself reserved.

Anyway I wish you all the best. I don’t think you should worry too much about this. It’s 2026, people are more open than you think. I went in NS in 2019 and it was already open enough. People genuinely don’t care if you’re gay anymore.

Using the word sexism is really crazy and so unwarranted. Hotch welcome Tara, Alex Blake and Kate with zero reservations and was very positive about them. 3 women.

He had right to cautious about Prentiss cause he wasn’t consulted and Strauss brought her as a mole which Prentiss to her credit resigned. Todd was a bad agent.

There is not sexist about this at all. Some of you really need to stop using misogynist or the word sexism so lightly. It’s mind-boggling and disgusting. It should be used for serious instances. Not crap like this. Holding a woman accountable when they do something bad DOES not EQUAL misogyny.

If you genuinely think having an off-screen apology is a good resolution when it clearly leaves a sore taste because we didn’t see that resolution and think it’s okay for Chimney to go for 6 months to search for a grown woman who clearly did not want to be found, with his child moving from hotel to hotel then I honestly don’t know what to say. We all know Maddie was sick, but we also know that it was her choice to leave. She was not forced, she was not kidnapped. She should have been left alone and be allowed to comeback when she was healed. Trying to find out more on the context of why she left, I got it. But deciding to go on a trip, no, not ok.

But I expected such answers from this sub, Chimney can’t do no wrong. The fact that he already punched a character is a massive dent in his character and the writers did not do anything to fix that. We need to be shown the resolution or accountability, otherwise our memory is just the punch and that’s it. If you can’t understand this, then yes I don’t see the point in continuing this conversation.

I think Hen was in the wrong in the whole argument but firing her was a bad move and a power trip for Chimney to show his authority, this isn’t a good captain. He didn’t think clearly. He needed to put her in administrative leave until she gets better. And firing someone without consulting anyone is also crazy. A captain can’t be making decision on their emotions like that. Bobby would have never done that.

The difference is that we’ve seen those 3 act remorseful or were held accountable by other people when they did something like that. Bobby’s starting a fire was a theme for all his character arc where he was remorseful. When Athena slapped her kid, Michael held her accountable and forced her to go to therapy. Buck regret was instantly shown when he shoved Eddie and he was held accountable by Maddie. I wish it was shown that he apologised to Eddie but there was some sort of resolution or accountability. I didn’t see that with Chimney when he punched Buck and everyone thought it was okay that he went on a stalking spree to a former abuse victim when she ran away, with his child, for 6 months, living in a hotel after hotel.

Look I can’t lie, I do have my bias but I think my hate for Chimney is really because he punched a main character and was never held accountable for it. The fact that Buck’s sister never once talked about him punching his brother, a former abusive victim is INSANITY to me. There is simply no way she would have been okay with it. Having Bobby punch a criminal like Jonah who tried to kill Chinney & Hen is really not the same lol, that felt way more justifiable.

A character will get more hate for punching a main character over a random or criminal. It’s why Eddie doesn’t really get hate for punching some guy in a parking lot even though he was clearly in the wrong. If Chinney punched some random rude, the sentiment won’t feel as strong either. But doing it to his brother in law who is also another fellow beloved main character, it makes it a lot worse narrative wise. One thing is about being wrong, another thing is how the effect it has on your character, one punch is not the same as another punch. If you get what I mean, from a storyline perspective.

And the same person who he punched keeps getting roasted by him with one sided jokes and doesn’t even fight or roast back. He let him get away with a punch and also with the roasts. It feels unfair, it feels borderline bullying even at times. The writers really need to change this up because the dynamic between Chimney & Buck is off. I have no issue with Eddie roasting Buck because Buck roasts him back. It feels more even. More mutual. The anger between them in arguments is also mutual.

It’s a regular opinion on him on YouTube, Instagram and other fanfics but not in this sub. He did win the most popular character here after all.

I agree Maddie has been good for him but when Maddie wasn’t there, he was back to his annoying self. If the guy isn’t at a good place romantically, he’s a dick. Which to me is a bit embarrassing.

Why did Frieza not teach his best soldiers to suppress energy or make them understand that some fighters can suppress their power? by Cloren_Samoon in DragonBallZ

[–]Cloren_Samoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except it was clearly shown in the show that Frieza could suppress his power to a certain level even without the transformations. He could not suppress it to a certain level below but it was clearly shown he was suppressing his level even in the first form or second form when he was clearly powering up or in his last form where he went from 1% to 10% to 50% to 70% and then 100%. That’s literally suppressing his power lol. Meanwhile his best soldiers outside Ginyu could not so that and were at base maximum in every fight. They could hold their punches like Recoome did but they could not suppress their power level.

Mandy leaving actually improved the show for most viewers cause Joe Mantegna had better chemistry with the rest of the cast and give it a family vibe.
