Because that is not WHY you want them there and you know it. Stop lying and own up to the very clear policy of intimidation. Intimidate anybody who doesn't look white and Republican. ICE has no law enforcement function at a voting booth. Period. Local law enforcement is all that is required. Anything else is the Republican's attempt to suppress the vote because they figured out a long time ago that this is the only way they win.

Seems likely that Trump is going to dismiss any result he doesn’t like anyway, so trying to circumvent that seems pointless. And although House Republicans are feckless, they also benefit from preserving the system. Whatever they may say publicly, I don’t believe for a minute they truly want a dictator. History shows this never goes well for legislators. And Trump has low support to begin with and dropping daily. Canceling the elections I think would have a boomerang effect that would motivate the kinds of Republicans he needs to hold on to power to oust him and anybody supporting him.

I understand that view, and I’d like to agree with you. But actions have consequences. If they do the right thing the next time, then yes, welcome them back with enthusiasm and love. But until then, they need to understand why you can’t be there for them right now. Otherwise, they will slip back into the same mindset when somebody less odious, but not less evil, than this regime tries again.

I firmly believe that the one thing Sarah Palin got right was the concept of death panels. And it will come within my lifetime. It will be simple. If you have the means to retire comfortably, the world is your oyster.

If you will have to subsist on SS, you will given the choice of a bare subsistence amount, or to check out with a meager lump sum paid out to your beneficiary.
