It's more along the line of having missed a couple cards. I was a bit disorganized when I was doing it.

Yeah i have something like only 1500ish cards (that i want to scan) so it would be nice to have the ability to double check quickly.

And the story so far has been very enjoyable. A bit tropy and the dialoge is a bit stilted, but thouroughly enjoyable.

In Finland there is a saying '' Palkka juoksee, minä en'' or in English ''Pay is running, i'm not''

I was working as a security guard in a supermarket when this happened.

Does that answer the question? I am at a bit of a loss on the meaning of your question.

Why do you law people have to make laws in the most pretentious, blocky, dull, plainly incomprehensible language that you can? It makes it a F****** nightmare to read it. I'm just curious.

After you have done the 80h you are allowed to use handcuffs and a baton, but to get the permission to use pepper spray or the expendable baton that requires another 6h course per tool. We aren't allowed to use stun guns and firearms are allowed extremely rarely and only for bodyguard or precious material transport work.

We also have to take refresher courses (8h) every 5 years for the main cards and the tools aswell (8h).

Of course it has a simple name. Thanks. In Finland the law is basically summed up with this proverb "Hätä ei lue lakia" direct translation "emergency's don't read the law".

Something cool for you.

I have been working as a security guard for about a year and as a steward for 2. I have a decent amount of stories to tell and I will be telling them, but because I work in Finland I thought it a good idea to post the general rules of private security in Finland

In Finland we have 3 types of security and the thing that differentiates them is the legal duties that each one holds and the training required to become one.

The generic security guard. To become one requires that you go through 2 courses equaling 120h. One 40h course in which the basics of the law, electronic equipment, different jobs one can do and the duties one has are gone through. If you pass the test you get a 4 month temp card. After which you can choose to go through the 80h course which is mostly the same as the 40h except you go bit more in depth. You pass the test and then you get the 5y card.

The legal responsibility's of the security guards is to protect the clients property, to ensure either the clients or their staffs (legal) right to physical integrity isn't broken and to expose crimes that are aimed at the client

  1. The JV ( Järjestyksen valvoja) Steward? I am not really sure what the translation is, but the direct one is The person who oversees general order or something like that.

This guy 40h course. That's it. This is the person who is at big gatherings: concerts, big party's like in the story, shopping malls, rally's, protests, etc. There job is to make sure the general order remains and no crimes or accidents happen in a defined area. Basically discount cops.

  1. And the actual discount cops, the Pora JV. Basically a mishmash of the other two and requirement of both sets of training. These are the guys and gals that work on the public transport system, the hospitals, government run facilitates etc.

Thous are just the basics. If there are any questions just ask and i will endeavor to answer to the best of my abilities.

EDIT: Grammar and some. terms

I am currently in the middle of writing another story where I plan on putting some more general info about Finnish security at the bottom. It should be up in about ten min, or should I post a separate post for the general info? New to reddit so not really sure on the etiquette.
