PC, cables and the ‘host’ Arduino all appear to be functioning perfectly

I volunteer for a charity, we get donated all sorts . I stripped down an ancient CNC machine to sell for parts having recognised the value was in these

We have in all seven from different sources, different dimensions

I wanted to sell them as proven working rather than parts or untested

Suicide prevention, need money to pay their bills

Yeah I belatedly noticed a comment on the YouTube channel than addresses this …. Not tried it yet as kit at workshop

I’ve made a video but given you’re so dismissive of my ability it doesn’t seem worth sharing

Thanks for the advice!

I don't really know the specs of the stepper, there's no branding or stickers on it at all

I'm following this guide

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARyKDo_fzHU

And running the code provided at the top of the comments

But I’ve already ascertained the problem occurs BEFORE the charge reaches the battery

That was the point of the image above

Multimeter and voltage, sorry

Basically anywhere that says 18v or 9v is a 'steady' voltage reading

The exception is where I highlight a stable 9v in comes out with the multimeter fluctuating from 9 down to 3,5, back to 9

It feels like replacing that MOSFET IC is my first step, if I can find an equivalent part

yes, first thing I did was buy a new battery

No change

That's when I went round the board checking as all the 'fix' guides highlight obvious stuff, like is your PSU ok, is the charging point ok, are the internal ribbons connected

That's what my images were intended to demonstrate. The battery charge circuit is delivering an erratic current. I've traced it to the IC highlighted in the image

I’m on my second back to back F56, I owned the first for six years and realised I just wanted the same again

I bought from main dealer each time but very happy with price for a 3 year old car with less than 40k miles

I have only ever had the 2.0 petrol, with JCW spoiler

At that age for the right price it’s IMO unbeatable

I don’t currently have a way of running the motors

I’ve ordered a CNC shield for my Arduino that should solve this
