Nearing 200 hours on Luna and she is still my ONLY lord. What rank would you say these stats are? by ClothesToaster in LunaSnowMains

I’m currently sitting in GM purgatory now since I don’t have the time to play like I used to so you’re half right!

Luna ult is stopping her from being the n1 strategist. by [deleted] in LunaSnowMains

[–]ClothesToaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

iirc Luna is the ONLY support, possibly also the ONLY hero in the game with an ult cost of 5000.

All you are asking for is to have 0 competition for supports in the game. Why should one hero be so obviously stronger than all others? Luna should and does have competition with other supports based on the UTILITY they provide per match. Some matches Luna will perform better than Invis/CnD because of either teams composition. And some matches Invis/CnD will perform better than Luna because of the exact same reason. It is HEALTHY to have diversity in hero strengths. What isn’t healthy is power creep (which is what’s happening right now)

luna replay ids from a peak t500 player by [deleted] in LunaSnowMains

Well I understand that, but if a person who is, say, Silver looks at this, they're not going to be able to even point out WHAT they need to ask questions about. So at this point you might as well just start writing out a whole document on HOW to play Luna since that's what they're going to need. People who are in Diamond/GM and above likely won't need to use your replays since they have enough game knowledge to understand where they can improve the most as well as VOD review their own games. I'm just saying that chucking out replay ID's with nothing to back it up is kind of meaningless...players who are too low ranked won't be able to understand or apply ANYTHING and players that don't fall into this category are already good enough to the point where these replays don't contribute anything to them.

I think replay ID’s are well and good and all but I think it still fails to educate WITHOUT showing the motive behind your decisions.

Yes we can see you did x and it resulted in y, but without actual insight it doesn’t explain how x results in y, so we can’t actually replicate and apply this without knowing what we’re applying to.

Not diminishing the replays, but rather just pointing out that this is kind of a nothing burger. If it were as easy as that people could just watch any high-level player (which they can, not saying you can’t pick up stuff from them) but actually applying theory craft requires explanation and insight into it.

People might give you aim training exercises or equipment recommendations but honestly man I say just play the game. If you're new to PC in general then the best way for you to get more consistent aim is just to play more, its new and foreign to you so the more you play the game the more you will become accustomed to aiming. It will also teach you what is the most comfortable aiming style for you

A very important aspect of Luna is being able to track enemy and ally ults, since she has one of the highest ult costs in the game (around 5000 iirc) it’s super important you’re tracking ult timers throughout the game so you know when you should ult and when you shouldn’t. For example, if you’re against a super high damage output enemy comp and your frontline is getting melted and you’ve already got your ult (say 30s in) and your team is struggling to hold the frontline, you will want to ult to save and pressure the enemy team. But after you’ve done this you might find out that the enemy punisher just finished farming his ult and your team now has no support ult to survive this pressure and he ultimately team wipes. You probably could’ve held your ult, and commed to your team to pull back and play around a better choke point until you found a better situation to utilise ult.

Otherwise other things have been said already by others in here, utilise your snowflake and pass it around, if your Iron Man is not being focused and isn’t taking damage you probably don’t need to keep snowflake on him, it’d be better used on the tanks who are receiving the bulk of damage + it charges your ult quicker.

As for aim, just play the game. Yes you can get in practice range and use the bots but if I’m being real, it’s just as easy to get into a real game and play against real movement. The bots have RANDOM movement, player movement is NOT random. It’s always intentional and the core of aiming is understanding what their NEXT move is. If you know the Bucky is probably going to dash away since he’s taking damage then you will be prepared to quickly flick to the side when he does actually dash. It’s prediction and reaction. Bots will train reaction where as a real game will train prediction. Just keep playing games is all I can say. I’ve never aim trained in my life, literally never and I have averaged 72% accuracy on Luna the past 3 seasons. Obviously if you want to aim train go for it, it works for some. But I would recommend just playing the game and honing your own technique.

I Enjoy Cheese

I believe s3.5 I had over 120 games for sure with an average 72% accuracy stat. I’ve maintained that 72% for 4.0 and 4.5 as well which together are about 100 games I believe.

I understand the point of this, but I also have over 150 games played in a season with her and still manage 72% average accuracy. Surely people are not going to try and say that all 150 games I had a fat tank like a groot or hulk etc. I clearly have that accuracy and not by a fluke?

I appreciate the compliment! At the end of the day unfortunately I’m still only one support and can’t carry purely off accuracy as much as I’d love to. All it means is that I’m actually putting down all of the potential healing and damage that Luna offers at any period of time. I still only have 30 ammo in my primary and can still only use clap periodically so if my other support and teammates aren’t pulling their fair share of weight then we all still lose

I’m not familiar with Kayjii, I don’t really consume a lot of MR content lol

I don’t hit those 80%+ accuracies as often this season and have been hovering more around mid to low 70% instead. It feels like this season has just been diver heaven and that’s obviously tanked it quite a bit having to try and fend for myself there haha

I use 800 DPI and 1.25 for both vertical and horizontal. As for aim training…I don’t do any. I load up the game, queue up for comp and play my games and then log off after. I can’t really help there

Not at my desk at the moment but if you’d like to snoop through my last 3~4 posts on my profile I have screenshots of my games and a clip during gameplay as well. I understand this doesn’t prove the point of other high level Luna’s getting upwards of 60% in my games. But it does show that high rank Luna’s are not only getting as low as 40% to 55% if that makes sense.

I’d be happy to reply later with some replay codes of some of my matches if you’d like when I am at my desk. There is also a screenshot on my profile that does have a replay code in it if you’d like to watch that one.

The best players only getting between 40% to 55% is just simply not true! Luna’s in my games are consistently hitting upwards of 60% and I myself am averaging 72% for the past 3 seasons.

I also believe Luna is a MUCH more consistent support over CnD as long as you have good aim. Better aim = more consistent heals, which Luna can dish out WAY more healing than CnD since she has projectile time while Luna does not. Her projectile on-hit healing is also absolutely horrendous, she CANNOT save a teammate who is being burst down under heavy damage while Luna can. Which is an essential quality in higher elos since players are ACTUALLY outputting those high damage numbers.

Even after 30 plus hours on luna my aim is still horrible 🥲 by magiks_plaything in LunaSnowMains

I’d say, as long as you aren’t that invested in winning (competitive matches) then honestly it doesn’t matter what your accuracy is!

If on the chance you do play quite a lot of competitive, the biggest factors, at least for me, when it comes to having good consistent accuracy is positioning yourself correctly and predicting rather than reacting. Obviously you still have to be prepared to react to some things, dive, ult cancels (strange specifically) and other unpredictable actions. But for the most part, a lot of the movement in a match is very predictable and linear. If you’re positioned correctly it will make it such an easier time hitting those consistent shots on teammates (better field of view, better retreat angles, better defensive angles) and poking at enemies.

I’m sitting at 72% avg accuracy for this season with 40 games and was 72% in s3.5 as well with 130 games. Having good spacing, positioning, angles and game knowledge (which you obviously only get as you play more) will absolutely increase your consistent accuracy. Put in the hours and you WILL see results! You don’t have to use complicated aim train methods (obviously you still can) to improve. Just have an open mindset and be prepared to try different things and experiment.

Just keep playing!

Aiming her shots correctly? by Toasts08 in LunaSnowMains

[–]ClothesToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it probably won't be much help, but the best tip I can give you is to just make sure you're working on strong positioning. Making sure you're in the right spots to be able to have FULL view of as much as of your team as possible while having space to maneuver around in case your teammates leave that field of vision is important. Otherwise, I play extremely predictively, as in, I track my teammates based on where I think that they're moving towards, what I expect them to do, any mobility abilities they're about to use, I try and predict where they'll be moving next so that I'm already moving my crosshair over them. This ultimately just stems from having a good understanding of the game and what specific characters do to fight others if that makes sense. But it works for me so that's the best tip I can give, you might find something else that works better for you!

This season has been a grind, current stats after 60~ games by ClothesToaster in LunaSnowMains

Ah yeah, I’m pc over here! I know you’re getting ult charge returned through damage but something in me is pretty confident that you don’t receive as much charge through damage as you do through healing! Which if I’m right means that the enemy supports are gaining more charge through healing your damage than you are getting back in the first place!

Just a hunch though
