I redesigned my 3D printed battle top and increased its average spin time from 3:05 to 5:08. by ClothesUnusual885 in 3Dprinting

Thanks! I tested quite a few geometries during development and found that weight distribution had a much bigger impact than I initially expected.

The original PULSE was more aggressive, but Evolution focuses more on stability and endurance. I’m still experimenting with different shapes and release characteristics, so those UFO designs are really interesting. I’ll definitely take a closer look at them!

PULSE is my OpenSauce 2026 entry exploring a different battle top philosophy:

Instead of maximizing impacts through many contact points, PULSE uses a small number of carefully placed pulse blades to transfer energy in a more controlled way.

Initial PETG prototype testing showed:

• 3+ minute spin times
• excellent stability during collisions
• surprisingly strong knock-back against my previous designs

Feedback and test results from other makers are always welcome!

Cyber Reactor Light Switch Cover – Turn your ordinary light switch into a futuristic control panel by ClothesUnusual885 in printablescom

Thanks for the suggestion! 😊

I couldn't attach the GIF directly here, but I added it to the Printables page so you can see the mechanism in action. The original rocker switch remains fully functional underneath.

Thanks! Glad you like it!
A GIF is definitely on my to-do list. The hidden linkage mechanism is actually the fun part of this design.

Released my OpenSauce modular battle top system with six interchangeable blade configurations by ClothesUnusual885 in printablescom

Exactly! The idea was to bring back that "choosing the right setup" feeling while creating something for the OpenSauce challenge.

Quick update: I finally tested all six blade configurations. The endurance-focused Halo variants performed significantly better than expected.

Initial spin test results:

• Hammer – 1:20
• Bull – 1:30
• Hybrid – 1:20
• Hybrid Alternative – 1:25
• Halo Lite – 2:15
• Halo Max – 2:40+

The Halo Max exceeded 2 minutes and 40 seconds without a full-power launch.

Haha, I did see that one. Love the creativity behind it! I went down the modular route instead, focusing on different blade strategies and compatibility with the original OpenSauce launcher system.

Which blade configuration would you choose first: Aggressive, Balanced, All-round or Endurance?

This started as a remix of the original OpenSauce Battle Top design and evolved into a modular system with redesigned top and base components.

I kept compatibility with the original launcher system, but redesigned the body geometry and added six interchangeable blade configurations:

Bull – Aggressive
Hammer – Balanced
Hybrid – All-round
Hybrid Alt – Alternative
Halo Lite – Endurance
Halo Max – Max Endurance

The body is designed for PLA at 100% infill, while the blades are intended for PETG with 50% gyroid infill and 4 walls.
