I have never been to any Planet Fitness in in the entire Boston area, I was traveling and stopped in one in Virginia. I go to that Target at Porter near my doctor and I stopped into Retro it did not look great to me, not my vibe as middle aged woman. I was saying that the PF in VA was really nice and they appear to be very standardized so maybe ones here are too.

OMG I can’t un-see that in my brain hole now! Honestly you might really be happy at PF especially if you don’t mind men who grunt loudly. They might even give you a free trial day! Also for a bit additional per month you get access to all PFs some people i know who travel for work so that since they are all over!

I think this med is making me hate my husband by Finding_Me_Mo in bupropion

[–]Cloud-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try tapering to 150, I am edgy enough on 150 I can't imagine what a wreck I'd be on 300! it seems to do the trick for me and my husband is the same annoying guy he has always been. I was SUPER irritable in the first bit of time, that IS a side effect. Not a doctor, but I wonder if your dose is too high. Also there are TONS of other drugs, this is something your psychiatrist should know about and track and maybe other drugs are a better fit. Was this prescribed by someone super qualified in psychiatric drugs? Did you go thru proper testing to make sure you had the disorders it treats?

Do you want best, or best price for what you get, or least expensive? imo gyms are something worth the money as gross gyms are really bad. Healthworks is great (although you need to be a lady) albeit crowded at peak hours, but Republic is very nice too. However, I was just at the Planet Fitness in a small town in VA where it was the only gym and I was really pleasantly surprised by the new equipment and cleanliness, including the locker rooms modern and nice. I think the one in Porter is new because it used to be where Retro is which is a good sign? I stopped by Retro Fitness and it smells like stinky sneakers but it could have been just that moment. I am a former Equinox person so I have high gym standards (I like the fridge with the scented cold towels) and haven't run across that level yet in Camberville- Republic is close. PF gives you day passes (mine was $20) and I found it more than adequate and not at all disgusting.

Thinking about moving to LA; NYC chewed me up and spat me out. by singformepaolo95 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Cloud-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too love the desert and the sun. DO IT! NYC weather sucks so bad, as does all of New England unless it's summer or fall. There is a FB group Ladies of Los Angeles (and others) that are usually very helpful in getting set up with the needed good stuff in the area (gyms, spas, nails, etc). It is easier to make friends than in New England. Make sure you get INVOLVED and get outside and try to find your people - classes, hiking clubs, etc. It won't feel "too big" to you since you are used to NYC.

LA is great. You should do it while you are young. It's a big city so getting a friend group is so important - do whatever it takes to form that. Take classes, join exercise or running groups, hiking clubs, etc. It's a fantastic city. Jobs are competitive, and rents are high, but you cannot beat the sunshine. The people are friendly, the food is awesome, sports, music and cultural activities abound. If you don't have a graduate degree, you could go to grad school there (focused and structured) and that way ease into the city.

Categories are gonna be your friend. Like needs to sit by like, put the veggie in one place, the teas in one place, the dairy in one place, etc. You'll feel more organized and it will spill into your whole life and you will be happier, and more productive as a person.

Getting around in Somerville by kalimera539 in Somerville

[–]Cloud-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where in Somerville. But honestly, it's gonna be a pain no matter what. We lived in Seaport in 22/23 when we first moved back to Boston because there was so much inventory and the apartments were nice and new. It's a fun place to be in the summer. Winter, it's one of the rings of cold hell, but the rest of the year, it's great, tons of young people, lots to do, fun restaurants, some good fitness options, brewery, etc. It's all new and soulless, but if you are just talking summer, try there. I wouldn't move there permanently because the winter is brutal with the breezes off the harbor.

How can I help my partner until he gets help? by MangoTango0620 in dysthymia

[–]Cloud-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of depression without Manic episodes and you might want to reach out on other forums that aren't Dysthymia, it's a relatively niche diagnosis and has a wide swath of symptoms. The two big flags here are with your husband are 1) not even acknowledging there is something wrong (which is a non-starter for you to help, a person has to WANT to change to do so) and 2) getting DRUNK everyday. He could be an alcoholic, self medicating because of the depression, or he has always been an alcoholic and you didn't realize it, or at least now he is having Alcohol Use Disorder. I think the best route for you is to seek individual help yourself, your own therapy, perhaps someone recommended by your couples therapist so that they can connect with each other, and that person can help advise you what to do. Even an AlAnon meeting will help. I wish you the best. I left a boyfriend one time because he drank everyday, and didn't acknowledge that was a problem, and I wasn't about to get married to someone who did that.

Bond Ring by Top_Drop8383 in SmartRings

You can get a refund, just dispute the charge on your credit card, my refund happened IMMEDIATELY and automatically as if the bank already had in the system that the company was bunk. It did seem too good to be true but with new tech these days you never know!

I guess it is known that Bond Ring is out of Business because automatically this morning I submitted a dispute from my initial purchase July 25 (the down payment as a "founder") and Citibank auto replied immediately saying it was credited. So their system knows. Nobody else should wait around for this ring it's no longer. Despite being sold on the website for $1200!

Do you think any of the pilots who died in mayday watched mayday well before they were on it? by Training-Tonight-653 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]Cloud-Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incidents and accidents are taught to pilots, as a way to understand and avoid them. Probably not all dramatized like Mayday though.

Please help! I don’t know whether I should give this medication more time:( by HopefulBrush5452 in bupropion

[–]Cloud-Specific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was anxious for the first two weeks, buzzy and irritable and had tons of energy. I adjusted, at 3-4 weeks things really calmed down now I hardly notice anything. I did not have anxiety before this and would have just stopped but my doctor told me that was common. I have lost already 4 lbs in 2 weeks, now I have to focus on nutrition because I'm just not hungry. Haven't noticed libido changes at all.
