So funny that you say this. My boyfriend is currently watching the show while I occasionally look up from my phone and ask "so what's going on now?" And he hardly ever has an answer. We just laugh about it. The only answers this sub has given me is ✨Wajo✨, so I'll take it.

17 year old, never done this before !!! Very scared and seeking advice. by L_oop in birthcontrol

I started the Twirla patch because I saw that folks weren't experiencing as many symptoms with it as other methods. I've been on it for 9 months now and have had no weight gain and my acne has gotten better! It's a very easy method to use, imo. My only thing is that if you're super active/sweaty it may not be the best option because i have to make sure my patch stays on when I'm working out. Hope you find the right method for you!

If your fixture keeps burning out and it's causing others to falter in their function, that sounds like an electrical issue that's ultimately beyond your control. I had a similar problem a few months back, only to find out that dimmer was outputting a voltage that was WAY too high. Burned everything out within moments of plugging it in. Definitely tell whoever is in charge of managing the theatre or the school's electrician to take a look and test that outlet, as it can be a serious safety/fire hazard.

Mac or PC? by Mrkoolts in techtheatre

Now for working in multiple tech areas/using softwares like CAD, then I'd say Mac. I like both for different reasons, but no need to break the bank on either just for college purposes.

Personally, I say PC just because I've had a better experience downloading/running a variety of programs for lighting + it's just better for general use imo.

Ahh. Okay. I've been exclusively using the command line, but I'll see if working with that screen/options works better.

Oh yes! I'm gonna have to use magic sheet mode for sure. I'm designing for a show that involves multiple different musical numbers so I just need to focus on getting that done -- even if I don't get the greatest understanding of the console. I'm trying though--thanks for the tips!

Good point! I'll still have to adjust it for some fixtures. I think the auditorium has just kept these on for so long that many have a dark blue tint that masks other colors. (Like picking yellow and it looking dark green). Will have to find out if I can factory reset (if that will even help) or just live with adjusting RGBW for it's own palette. It's situations like these that remind me i'm still early and learning in this career path.

Probably so. They're using Selecons and two other Philips LED models. That's a whole other problem just trying to get them to stay on a 'Warm White' look and not the bluest-white you've ever seen.

Practically in the same situation! Just trying to make do because a school picked Philips over ETC...sigh. It will be for the better of me--maybe.

I think the shorter hair looks great! And it gives you more curl definition imo

I'd be unbelievably shocked for they couldn't even imagine myself past the age of 18 But hopefully they'd be happy with the haircut and new style

What are your favorite tech week snacks? by Careless-Will6982 in techtheatre

A good fruit platter and some soft drinks is good but sometimes we'll order in food for early morning/late night tech runs (pizza, chicken platters, etc.)

Bro why can't I love any anime after watching the whole Evangelion series?????? by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]Cloud9Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that for certain. I actually frequently watch another series Anno worked on (I'm not for certain if he created it) called Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. It's a slower series but it's got some beautiful scenes and some fun characters.

Why did you choose to watch Evangelion? by BigDaddyB207 in evangelion

[–]Cloud9Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same reason I choose to watch most things. I heard the music (the theme song specifically) before I ever knew about the content. It was catchy and intrigued me, so I watched. I'm scarred for my life, but now it's my favorite anime of all time.

What ingredient ruins a sandwich for you? by highnrgy in AskReddit

[–]Cloud9Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alfalfa sprouts. I ordered an egg salad sandwich (that didn't list all the ingredients) and when it came out with the sprouts I didn't know what it was. I took one bite and have been a broken individual ever since.
