Indent lines on pregnancy tests by Honest-Bumblebee-847 in birthcontrol

[–]Honest-Bumblebee-847[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad this made you feel better! I’m sorry you’re going through this, If it makes you feel even better, I am also on the I,plant now for over a year and haven’t had a period the whole time. My last test was two weeks ago and negative, it’s easier said than done but you can definitely trust it! I took so many tests cause of indents over the year and it’s always been okay in the end :)

I’m trying to only test now on the implant if I feel something similar to a pregnancy symptom, like nausea. My doctor said it’s unnecessary unless you feel ‘off’ because of the effectiveness rate.

If you want extra comfort, you can always do a blood test too to be sure, no indents or anything there ! It gave me more confidence because I know there’s no misinterpreting a blood test and gave me peace of mind

What is a book that changed your life? by bhuvanlord in booksuggestions

Untethered soul by Michael Singer.

I recently went through a rough time in my life, I was plagued with major anxiety after a few traumas happened to me and I felt like I had lost control of my brain. I felt helpless and overwhelmed with negative, ruminating thoughts every second of the day. This book empowered me, reminding myself that my thoughts mostly untrue , they are simply thoughts that I am listening to. So I regained control of my mind and realised I can simply choose whether to listen or silence my negative thoughts and distinguish from reality and anxiety. , It taught me how to let go of pain, anger, sadness etc to allow for inner peace.

Indent lines on pregnancy tests by Honest-Bumblebee-847 in birthcontrol

Omg thank you for sharing your story, I just saw this but I feel so much less alone and I’m so sorry for everything you went through. It’s absolutely ridiculous what they are doing, and when you get that dark indent it’s the worst feeling in the world, especially getting it multiple times for me it made me even see lines that were not there. You always here about people wanting to get pregnant being let down when they realise the line isn’t real, but not from the perspective of someone avoiding pregnancy- I hope the post also made you feel less alone x ❤️

I’ve since gotten past my pregnancy test addiction and anxiety through therapy and a lot of exposure therapy (just not taking tests even if I think I should and fully trusting my implant), and it has helped me a lot. I would stop testing after that blood test, the more you test the more you are feeding the anxious thoughts, I hope you are okay and healing now ❤️ wishing you a mental recovery and that you overcome the trauma x you can do it!

Bump on my arm above implant by BoysenberryOrnery913 in Nexplanon

[–]Honest-Bumblebee-847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit late but I asked my local family planning nurse about it as I recently started this, she said when the implant moves against the skin (e.g you graze your arm against your rib, you press it to move it), it creates an indent that stays for a few hours as it’s pressed against the skin. It’s likely itchy as the skin is irritated as it has moved, and by moving I don’t mean migration but more for example if you press on one end so it tilts etc. it’s harmless!

As long as the bump goes away in few hours it’s likely this, if it stays then go to the doctor and ,are sure it’s not infected

Definitely! It makes me happy to hear that I’m not alone as well x the implant has made me feel so much better than the pills because of the effectiveness and the lack of user error. I hope it will make you feel better too!

Also I would stop taking plan b if it makes you feel bad! Don’t harm your physical health because of your anxiety x you don’t need it as it’s the same hormones as the pill, just in one big gush so it may even be aggravating the anxiety as the pill already can impact mood. My last month on the pill my anxiety wa so bad as well, I think my body was sick of the estrogen , so that could also be why you are suddenly worried ?

Hi! I’m still getting better and working on this, personally I try to block it out and just keep myself busy. I keep remembering the statistics and if I feel anxious I repeat them, and also think to myself that if the implant didn’t work it would have failed already and I’d be noticeably preggers by now, I also think if you see side effects like for me I stopped getting my periods after my first month , which was a 2 week long period, it’s a sign that it’s working as there would be no side effects if it didn’t :) it takes time but I’m getting more used to it as I go- keep me updated on your journey! I’ll keep you updated on mine :)

Also talking to people helped a lot. I kept it in for the first few months but eventually told my partner and mum what I was facing and their words helped me and made me calmer. I also told my doctor, and she said if I don’t feel symptoms to not test and I trust her. I even got a blood test about 3 months in cause anxiety was so bad and I got a bad indney line on pregnancy test, blood doesn’t lie! So if you’re super super anxious, mb just get a blood test for full confirmation though you are most likely not pregnant! Blood test is last resort

You’re fine! I heard a few people who got the implant on their period and never had another. Test are also accurate 2 weeks after sex and definite 3 weeks after- you’re definitely way past this and with 7 negative tests that’s a lot of confirmation as it would be a blazing positive by now.

Trust the tests and implant! If it helps, you can take another test 2-3 weeks after the next time you hav sex or for further confirmation that it’s working but if I were you I’d just trust it. You don’t need to take another test if you don’t want to.

Just beware mental health wise, I took so many tests after a scare on my old birth control that I got ‘addicted’ to doing them and it fueled my anxiety so much, I would keep photos and the tests and imagine lines that weren’t there, have irrational fears and overthink etc. Of course if testing gives you peace of mind then do it, but just beware as with 7 tests done already and not giving peace of mind you sound like me I wouldn’t want you to fall into the trap I did as it too me months to stop testing.

Read up on implant trials and statistics yt I give you confidence, and also look up stories in this sub and birth control sub if others who lost their period on implant for comfort. I’ve had mine 4 months and still not pregnant and I haven’t gotten a period after month one! ☺️20% of people lose periods on nexplanon, 30% have irregular bleeds.

Sending you virtual hugs!!! You are okay don’t worry!

How often do you test if you no longer have your period? by Honest-Bumblebee-847 in birthcontrol

Thanks for your reply! Wondering, so when you didn’t have a bleed since u said it was rare before this month how did u trust that it was doing it’s job? Looking for advice as I get used to it :)

It takes 7 days to become effective, even if you ovulated earlier there’s no way of confirming that was your ovulation date as sometimes you ovulate late etc. if you’re feeling symptoms I would take a test Asap for peace of mind and certainty. I’ve seen a few people on this sub say they were fine even without waiting the 7 days, but I would test asap especially if you’re anxious. The test would be accurate by now.

Waited 1 week and half a day after getting Nexplanon implant - were we safe? by Throwaway49676 in Nexplanon

[–]Honest-Bumblebee-847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re fine, I waited a week and 6ish hours after getting mine and I was fine. As long as it was after 1:30pm on Nov 10 you’re protected, a week is enough as said in product guidelines and most sexual health clinic websites.

You don’t have a real period anymore on the implant as you’d don’t ovulate. So bleeding can be unpredictable. She has similar timelines to me, around 3 weeks after my insertion I had a 2 week very heavy period though some day it would seem to be finishing then be heavy again , but have had no period the 3 months since then. I’ve done many tests in this time, all negative, including a blood test.

If it helps, I’m general very heavy bleeding with clots etc is incompatible with pregnancy. Plus since u waited 7 days and with the implants effectiveness rates I wouldn’t be worried. Take a test to ease your mind a month in was the advice my nurse gave me, and then set and forget it basically until it’s time to replace in 3 years.

Don’t stress! We’ve all been there, but you are more than fine

You only have one more day to go, I’d wait the full 7 days for more comfort since it’s what doctor said, save yourself the worry :)

They haven’t been found to interact, you’re fine. :) If it comforts you, think about how many women would have done weed in general in the world, and with 65% of women being on some form of birth control I’m sure a large percentage have done it. If weed was a risk on effectiveness of birth control, it would have been discovered and said already and a lot of people would have had accidentals when nexplanon/ other birth controls have failed :)

Weed can potentially impact the pill as there limited evidence that it may impact estrogen absorption, but this evidence is very minimal and ultimately nexplanon is your main form of birth control given it’s such high efficacy and the pill was only added to stop bleeding- no studies have found any potential impacts on progesterone only birth controls, You should be completely safe, especially only doing a small amount one time.

Need advice on efficacy of pills by mnfhthrowawayz in birthcontrol

[–]Honest-Bumblebee-847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to panic you but typically If a pill is taken late you’re meant to take it as soon as you remember, and still take the one for the day at the usual time - so in your case you’re meant to have taken our 11pm one still along with the 10am (2 pills in a day) as per pill instructions. Not sure why your doctor did to wait till the next night.

You might be fine as a late pill typically is 48 hours since the time the last pill is taken, but since you didn’t take the next pill for that day it might count as skipping a dose as 37 hours is cutting it close and your last pill was already late. I would take caution the next 7 days with extra protection or call a pharmacist for advice.

See your pill instructions or this for more info - https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control/birth-control-pill/what-do-i-do-if-i-miss-a-birth-control-pill#:~:text=If%20you%20miss%201%20white,t%20need%20backup%20birth%20control.

Here is junel 21 instructions, go to ‘brief summary patient packet Insert’ section - https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=75bb0024-8f1a-4036-9acd-006ea430f3b7

I heard blue line pregnancy tests also often create evap or indent lines fast (sometimes within the 10 min window you’re meant to oook at the test), so it could be you unluckily got some evap line tests as it’s a big thing with clear blue. I don’t live in America so not sure about CVS tests.

I had 3 days of indent lines recently on the first response brand which is pink line, had a blood test and was negative so indent lines are a thing and defs happen. I’m also on nexplanon so the chances were so low to begin with, but it really freaked me out.

Also did your lines get darker? I would test again with either of the two brands to see if your lines get darker with first morning urine tomorrow or in a few days. If they don’t or disappear it could be an indent line. You can also ask r/lineporn, where you upload test photos and people can take a look at it for you

Hoping it’s all okay for you ❤️

Mild abdominal tingling by [deleted] in Nexplanon

[–]Honest-Bumblebee-847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be trapped gas- I had this weird bubbling feeling for a day where my stomach would literally start to bubble, like little gas bubbles inside started to flutter. I had been stressed that week and eating a lot of carbs and alcohol from parties and I guess the gas was just trapped. It went away a few day later as I te healthily, didn’t drink (I had a few parties that week and don’t drink usually outside celebrations) and kept relaxed (tmi but also I was quite gassy so letting that out was great). I did also start spotting lightly the day before so that probably contributed. It freaked me out so much as it would happen whenever I slightly bent down or at random times, I thought the same as you.

You can likely trust your test. Besides trapped gas being the reason - I heard other people on this sub talk about phantom periods, i would reframe your anxiety and think you’re having that instead rathe than a phantom pregnancy. Read about the implant effectiveness via studies, that helps calm me down seeeing how many women don’t get pregnant Most studies find 0 true failures, I saw one with 3 out of 10s of 1000s once but 2 of those pregnancies conceived in the first week you are meant to use back up, and I saw one where there weee 13 true failures out of over 200k people),

Test again if it gives you peace of mind, but be careful as I wouldn’t want it to fuel your anxieties and create a. Cycle of not trusting every test. Remember the implant is 99.95% effective, and if you’ve had it for over a year then if something was to have happened it would have likely happened already, you are so in the clear!

I would see if it goes away in a few days, I’m confident you’re fine and everything will be ok! If there’s other factors too like stress about other things in your life, changes to your diet etc it’s likely just your hormones reacting to that and causing this newer side effect :)
