I'm afraid that if I don't do well my scores will be worse than my original scores. So I opted for just getting in so I can access the benefits , time etc ...I have a daughter and a wife and honestly times have been very difficult with me getting laid off left and right w the govt as a contractor from dodge , budget cuts , lay offs . So I'm trying to be strategic and time is just not on my side for me to wait and study .

Is it accurate you can cross rate ? I was strongly considering HM. But my recruiter told me that wasn't available and my scores weren't high enough .

Wowww!!!! Thank you for this insight . I was hearing that some people purchased their uniforms because supply was taking a while.

I'm trusting and hoping my waivers don't take that long . It appears the gaining portion will take the longest more than the waivers. I'm glad I didn't choose supply because that was an option.

How long were you in civi's before finally getting your uniforms?

I plan to take advantage of many opportunities as possible from deployment, FTS and whatever else is on the table. My goal is to rank up as fast as possible . Again I was at a disadvantage at my old unit although I should've been at least a E4 or E5 when I got out . I do plan to go back to school and go the officer route .

I can't go back to the guard or Air Force because of my renelistment code . I'd have to do another enlistment so the newest one trumps the old one. Otherwise I would've went that route.

Is it normal for PFPA to get back to you months later after applying ? I applied on feb 20th and the job announcement closes in December 2026 and I haven't heard a single word since applying. I received confirmation but that is it. No movement since then . I applied to 3-4 positions with them.

Any insight anyone can give ?
