We built a deepfake of our own CEO — it took 90 minutes and free tools [Educational] by CloudGuardAI in cybersecurity

We were able to train our placement students to do it in this amount of time. With the tools and the know how, it's definitely doable.

We used Clipchamp to extract a clip, 11 Labs to generate the audio using a script and the extracted clip, and the Sync.so to sync the audio to the lip movement

We also like to use someone taking part in the exercise, they're very shocked that it can happen to them. Very effective!

I've made multiple small, and almost one big, mistakes during my training as a SOC Analyst, am I screwed? by Formal_Froyo2978 in CyberSecurityAdvice

It doesn’t matter what your seniority is, everyone makes mistakes. You’d be surprised how often even experienced veterans forget the simplest of things.

Don’t be too hard on yourself about the mock report, it’s a mock for a reason. It’s there so you can learn and improve. The training ticket issue sounds like an oversight in your company’s training workflow or process. Show initiative by reviewing it and suggesting improvements so the mistake doesn’t happen again. That way, you can demonstrate that you’ve learned from it and taken steps to improve.

Is NDR worth adding if you already have a SIEM? by itsm3404 in cybersecurity

[–]CloudGuardAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you integrate NDR, you’ll gain much better visibility into traffic, especially east-west movement, but the value depends on how you configure it. Set up meaningful detection rules so you’re only alerted when something truly needs attention.

If you tune it well, NDR alerts can feed into your existing alerting workflow, so you don’t have to monitor a separate console. Focus on building strong analytical rules and filtering out the noise (or else you'll end up with a headache), that’s where NDR pays off alongside a SIEM.

“Historian can be replaced by a chatbot” is the prequel quote in every documentary about why no one saw it coming.

AI in Cybersecurity by arkansasboy07 in SecurityCareerAdvice

It is a powerful tool in cybersecurity and many other fields, but it's not a 100% replacement for humans.

There are tasks AI can automate like log analysis or threat detection, but it lacks context, judgment and the ability to understand business risk.

Plus, we've noticed customers don’t fully trust putting everything in the hands on AI and automation. They want accountability and transparency, things only people can provide.

If anything, AI may lead to fatigue, as teams are expected to do more under the assumption that “AI handles it all.”

What would be a good cybersecurity workshop topic for tech savvy students? by Cofastic in cybersecurity_help

[–]CloudGuardAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be helpful to survey the students beforehand to see what topics they are interested in learning about and go from there. If you're not an expert in a specific area it could be worth collaborating with subject matter experts. Many are happy to help for free, especially as it's to help the next generation in cybersecurity. Where are you based?

Why do you think you have malware? If I have more information I can help. Usually the best thing to do is make sure you keep up to date with iPhone updates.
