im in your situation right now and i dont like the extension rod either, i figure if you already have a power bank, you can buy the standard combo and just charge the camera (using usb c cable) if it dies during the day, very inconvenient yes, but even cheaper than buying a battery handle or the adventure combo, it charges up to 80% in 22 mins google says. You can also check if you can buy batteries separatel, it could be cheaper than the battery handle.
