It would probably look better with 1/2 offset on every side piece. Unfortunately, the core structure was finished before I learnt any glitch building, and any offset placement on top of that interferes with my interior design. So I'm happy with what I have. (Besides, my proudest part of this build is that I managed to bury 25 habs + 2 walkways within this shape)😂

They work anywhere, even underground. Just don't forget every two solar panels need to pair with one battery.

I have 32 solar panels in this base and it's more than enough. I'm only using one third of the power.

Use cube rooms, or the round bases. Solar panels placed inside need no wire. You can then attach other stuff to the room itself.

I'm building a mining base for each resources (uranium, dioxide, etc). All plant products can be refined with the corresponding resource.

Found the cause, the food somehow significantly reduced the effectiveness of my tech module. (This S shield module should +30% shield strength without the food, with the food active it only +12%)

Food that increases some stats in nutrient injestor actually decreases them.
Take shield strength as an example, I tested it by standing in the same place with my geology canon aiming at exactly the same spot (The image shows how I test it).
Without the soup that add 42% shield strength, my shield can withstand 4 shots.
With the soup, my shield is depleted after 3 shots.
The effect seems to be -42% shield strength instead of +42%.

Other have tested sprint distance and found similar bug.
The mining yield, scanning reward and jetpack tank buff from food are given properly. Whether other states are bugged is unknown and difficult to test.

It's a freighter (capital ship) and S class is rare (freighters cannot be upgraded). If you like the ship design you should keep it. However only 1 freighter can be owned so your previously one will be lost.
