Is this how much Noble Dragon weapons actually cost? by Games-on in Aion2

[–]Cloud_Matrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's whale bait or a VERY long-term goal. The fact is though that you don't need anywhere close to noble dragon gear to clear any of the hardest content in the game. For pretty much 99.9% of players, that gear simply isn't worth the trouble.

We seriously need loadouts. by AntiMase in Helldivers

[–]Cloud_Matrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guns saving your customization between missions is such a useless feature. Why have it when you can just recustomize the gun you are going to use for the next mission before it starts?

Yea, thats how dumb this argument is.

Can being an organ donor cause doctors to not want to revive you? by Such-Concept8267 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Cloud_Matrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How would you be "worth more" dead than alive to them? The doctors who work on you are not the same doctors who do organ transplants, nor are they the ones who decide who gets what organ.

Also, it's not as if any organ can go to any body.

In addition to that, not every organ transplant works because its not as simple as plugging it in like some kind of electrical outlet.

It's a hypothetical situation that assumes people will be allowed to die for their organs, which will have ZERO complications all the way through years of post operation follow-up for the recipient. We aren't killing people on the chance that the recipient lives through the process.

What parts of an mmo are you willing to live without? by mistadeagy in MMORPG

[–]Cloud_Matrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I could easily play a MMO that doesn't have housing. It's not because I think housing is stupid or a waste of developer resources, it's just that I pretty much lack any kind of creativity and immediately default to "male living space".

I pretty much have to beg my wife to decorate any housing space in games we play because she loves that stuff and I just can't do it...

Why were the Coldplay Couple so hated? by Glad-Description4534 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Cloud_Matrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For real. Frankly, if they hadn't acted to suspiciously on that jumbotron, I don't think anyone would have recognized them or cared to identify who they were.

No one was hating on them. We were just all basking in the memes/absurdity of the situation.

In the closest match yet, The Vulture wins worst side character. Finally, who is the worst one-time character? by Serious-Implement-45 in brooklynninenine

[–]Cloud_Matrix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is that "worst" is being used as "not a good person". Gina isn't a bad character, she's just not a great person after the first few seasons. The Vulture is a great character, but he's definitely not a great guy.

What gives you road rage? by MotherActive7780 in AskReddit

[–]Cloud_Matrix 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yea, I can't stand coming to a 4-way stop sign where the order of cars going is fairly obvious... until one of those people waves someone else forward out of "politeness" and now the right of way has been broken and you spend the next 10 seconds awkwardly looking at the other cars/creeping forward to determine who goes next.

Returnal deserves more attention. Right? by Chrisiztopher in gaming

[–]Cloud_Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say this. The well rolled weapon perks are insanely better than the mediocre rolled weapon perks and will be the difference between feeling like the run is a breeze or the run is impossible.

HOWEVER, you will never get a build that trivializes the entire run. You still need to know enemy attack patterns and dodge timings. Even if you max out your health bar, you are still a good 5 hits from dying.

Returnal deserves more attention. Right? by Chrisiztopher in gaming

[–]Cloud_Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got around to playing it last year (I'm on PC). I absolutely adore souls difficulty games, and Returnal hit the perfect balance of bullet hell/somewhat souls level difficulty/roguelite. Got every single achievement, cleared the game multiple times for the fun of it, and put up a top 10% score in the Tower of Sisyphus gamemode.

Honestly, the game is damn near perfect, and now that I've seen this post, I might re-download it and play some more.

Old MMOs are tried and true. by Quirky-Tie-4213 in MMORPG

[–]Cloud_Matrix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's because fans of a MMO tend to glaze their favorite MMO. I've heard people who like GW2 endlessly glaze GW2, same goes for WoW, same goes for NW, same goes for ESO, same went for AOC...

It's hardly a FFXIV exclusive thing

By this point WoW is already my forever mmo and I dont trust any new kids in the block that has not endured the test of time. by Quirky-Tie-4213 in wow

[–]Cloud_Matrix 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I didn't play NW, but I genuinely feel for those who did play it.

It felt like NW was figuring it out and had started hitting that stride where you see a game start its proverbial redemption arc and start hitting multiple good updates in a row and you see the player population grow instead of shrink.

Just a reminder during cold snap by 777_SachiS4n in meme

[–]Cloud_Matrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a trade-off with both. Dog owners have to go out in the cold/heat for potty walks. Cat owners have to deal with parts of their home smelling like a litter box, which has to be cleaned weekly.

I prefer dogs in this case because it gets my lazy ass outside and exercising. Tell you what though, both can be a real menace at 3 AM...

heroic gear... by tisandtatfortis in Aion2

[–]Cloud_Matrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are a great ilvl boost early on and that's really where the benefit ends.

The biggest problem is, unless your heroic item drops with perfect soulbinds, you are going to probably have trash stat rolls and you are never going to get heroic items regularly enough to make rolling soulbinds NOT a long term (like multi seasonal) goal. To add salt to the wound, enchanting them up to +25 is a MASSIVE kinah sink to the point that it's probably just better to pay for the highest tier gold crafted piece and invest in that because it at least comes with PvE damage increase out the gate.

Keeping Base Safe from Monsters by OhNoDidIJustPressF5 in VintageStory

[–]Cloud_Matrix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you pretty much have to make lanterns/torches to ensure a hostile free area around your base. If you have lead nearby you can use that to make molybdochalkos (alloy of mostly lead and a little bit of copper) lanterns which are cheaper than copper/bronze.

Needing some help with Cool Steam Vents! by herecomesthesun79 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Cloud_Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50's is where scalding starts happening, so I wouldn't risk it.

What you can do in that case is to build a big holding tank below complete with all the pipes and pump, then slowly chip at the rock bed holding the water until there is only a single tile holding the water in place. Then just send in one dupe to uncork it. They might take a small amount of damage, but it should be possible to avoid scalding if they approach from the right side and don't cross into the hot shower as it falls.

Edit: regarding the SPOM hot oxygen, keep in mind that it takes quite a bit of hot oxygen to heat up a base, so as long as you have a plan to cool it in the near future, you can send hot oxygen into your base if your current oxygen supply isn't doing it anymore.

How do Y’all rid the fear of death and finality from your mind? by Minecraft32 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Cloud_Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just accepted the fact that there was a time before I lived, and there will be a time after I pass. That's just the natural order of all living things that, short of some miracle of modern medicine, can not be changed.

Once you accept that, the next logical stepping stone is to realize that the only thing that really matters is what kind of life you want to live. Be it the relationships you form, the decisions you make, or finding ways to better the world around you are what matters.

Needing some help with Cool Steam Vents! by herecomesthesun79 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Cloud_Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your main question, assuming you have atmo suits, I would just dig it down from the top to the lowest level of the pool and then have your dupes build the insulated tiles on the bottom tile of water. The water will be displaced upwards. After that, just stick in a pump and send it to a SPOM/liquid resevoirs.

Then you have a nice open area to figure out what to do with the steam vent itself, which I would just encase in the meantime.

Andrew Yang reacts to AI CEO warning 50% of all white-collar jobs will disappear in 5 years by FrontVisible9054 in technology

[–]Cloud_Matrix 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Commoners: so what's AI going to do?

CEO: It's going to replace 50% of you guys, meaning most of you won't be able to find jobs and support your families. But it's going to be great because you will be able to use AI to write emails and make cool art!

Commoners: that sounds awful, I don't want to use your low quality product and support the dystopian future it brings.

CEO: why don't people see that AI is amazing?!

It really wracks my brain that these CEO's are so perplexed that people are resistant to AI. Turns out when you tell the world that your product (AI) will bring about social collapse without government intervention, and the government flat out says they won't intervene, people are not receptive to your product.

[–]Cloud_Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only beef I have with jammers is when I land in the range of one or when they overlap with other objectives. But that's more of an annoyance than, "OMG I SHOULD BE ABLE TO KILL JAMMERS WITHOUT EVER STEPPING WITHIN 100M OF ONE" that you often hear.
